The Weatherby 307 Range XP in 6.5 Wby RPM is a modern bolt-action rifle built on Weatherby's newest action platform, designed for shooters who want serious performance without compromise. Whether you're ringing steel on the range or hunting across variable terrain, this rifle combines a proven 2-lug action with shooter-friendly ergonomics and genuine aftermarket modularity—a rare combination in this class. The 307 action accepts a huge ecosystem of stocks, triggers, rails, and mounts, so you can build exactly what you need rather than settle for what comes in the box.
The Range XP doesn't cut corners on the barrel. It wears a Mag Sporter contour with spiral fluting to shed weight without sacrificing rigidity, and it ships threaded with both a cap and muzzle brake included. The Cerakote finish handles whatever weather the field throws at you. Under the hood, you get a spiral-fluted bolt, tool-less bolt takedown for cleaning and maintenance, an M16 extractor for reliability, and a Trigger Tech trigger—a straight upgrade that shoots crisp and breaks predictably.
The Magpul stock makes real concessions to comfort and adjustability: length of pull adjusts to fit your frame, the cheek rest raises or lowers to match your optic height and shooting position, and the textured vertical grip gives you control without slipping when things get slick. Dual front swivel studs let you rig a sling however you prefer. This is a rifle that respects your time on the line and your time in the field.
If you've been shopping bolt-actions and finding yourself locked into proprietary everything, the 307's modular design and 6.5 Wby RPM cartridge—a flat-shooting, hard-hitting round—offer real freedom. Built for hunters and shooters who know what they want and aren't afraid to tinker.
