The Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT 6.5-300 Wby is a purpose-built long-range hunting and competition rifle that brings modern chassis versatility to Weatherby's new 2-lug bolt-action platform. Designed in collaboration with MDT (Modular Driven Technologies), this ultra-lightweight rifle combines a proven magnum cartridge with a carbon fiber chassis system that collapses to save over 9 inches of length—ideal for hunters navigating tight terrain or shooters who need a compact package without sacrificing power. At its core is the Model 307 action, a fully cylindrical design engineered from the ground up for compatibility with today's most popular aftermarket stocks, triggers, rails, and magazines, giving you serious platform flexibility down the line.
The Alpine MDT strips away excess weight and adds field-ready features. Its spiral-fluted bolt and barrel reduce mass while maintaining rigidity, and the threaded barrel comes already capped with an AccuBrake to manage recoil and muzzle rise. The TriggerTech trigger delivers clean, predictable breaks, while side bolt release and tool-less bolt takedown keep the rifle quick to service in the field. Cerakote protection on the barrel resists the elements, and the M16 extractor ensures reliable case ejection across a wide range of field conditions.
The MDT HNT26 folding chassis is where this rifle earns its name. Adjustable length-of-pull and cheek rest let you dial in fit for prone shooting or hunting positions, while AICS magazine compatibility opens your ammunition options. An integrated ARCA rail standard means you can attach tactical accessories without guesswork. Whether you're hunting high-altitude game, competing at distance, or training for precision shooting, the Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT delivers the accuracy platform and adaptive design that modern long-range hunters expect.
