The Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT is a modern take on the bolt-action hunting rifle, purpose-built for shooters who refuse to compromise between field-worthy lightness and modular precision. Built on Weatherby's newer Model 307 action—a 2-lug fully cylindrical design—this 6.5 Weatherby RPM rifle brings real-world practicality to long-range shooting and mountain hunting. Partnered with MDT (Modular Driven Technologies), the Alpine MDT leverages a carbon fiber chassis and folding buttstock to deliver a compact, ultra-light package that doesn't sacrifice capability.
The Model 307 platform is engineered for the modern shooter who wants options. Its fully cylindrical action accepts a vast ecosystem of aftermarket stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines—you're not locked into a proprietary ecosystem. The 26-inch barrel wears a Mag Sporter contour, spiral fluting for weight savings, and arrives threaded with an AccuBrake and protective cap. The Cerakote finish handles field abuse without complaint. Inside, you get a TriggerTech trigger (known for clean, predictable breaks), an M16 extractor for reliability, and a side bolt release that feels natural in shooting position. Tool-less bolt takedown means you can field-strip it without a gunsmith.
The MDT HNT26 folding chassis is the standout—carbon fiber construction keeps weight down, and when the buttstock folds, you lose over 9 inches of overall length, turning this into a genuinely packable option for backcountry hunters or range sessions where vehicle space matters. The adjustable length of pull and cheek rest let you dial comfort for your build, and ARCA rail compatibility opens the door to modern tactical accessories. AICS magazine compatibility means you're not married to proprietary ammo boxes.
In 6.5 Weatherby RPM, this is a serious long-range platform with factory ammunition support and proven ballistics. Whether you're dialing in a 1,000-yard range day or glassing from alpine elevations, the Alpine MDT delivers accuracy and maneuverability without the weight penalty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT compatible with standard AR-15 magazines and aftermarket stocks?
The Model 307 action is a modular 2-lug platform designed to accept many aftermarket accessories, including stocks, triggers, rails, and mounts available in today's marketplace. For magazines specifically, this rifle uses AICS-compatible magazines. While the action platform is modular, always verify compatibility with the specific aftermarket component you're considering.
What is included with the rifle, and is the AccuBrake already attached?
The rifle comes with the AccuBrake muzzle device installed on the threaded barrel, plus a protective cap. No scope or additional accessories are included—just the rifle, action, and barrel as configured.
How compact is this rifle with the folding buttstock?
When the MDT HNT26 folding buttstock is collapsed, the overall length is reduced by over 9 inches, making it significantly more packable for transport in vehicles or backcountry situations without sacrificing the full 26-inch barrel's ballistic advantage when you're shooting.
What trigger does this rifle come with, and can I upgrade it later?
The Alpine MDT ships with a TriggerTech trigger. The Model 307 action's modular design means aftermarket triggers designed for 2-lug actions should be compatible, though verification with the manufacturer is recommended before purchase.
