The Weatherby 307 Range XP in 6.5 Creedmoor is a modern bolt-action rifle built on Weatherby's newest platform, engineered to give you genuine shooting flexibility whether you're running drills at the range or pursuing game in the mountains. Unlike older designs that lock shooters into a single ecosystem, the 307's 2-lug fully cylindrical action is built from the ground up for modularity—it accepts the vast aftermarket ecosystem of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines already proven in the AR and modern rifle world. That means you can customize this rifle to fit your exact needs without fighting against the gun's design.
The Range XP variant ships ready to work. Its Mag Sporter contour barrel is spiral fluted for a blend of rigidity and weight savings, comes threaded and capped, and includes a muzzle brake straight from the box. The bore and chamber are protected with Cerakote finish—a serious, durable coating that handles field use without fussing. The trigger is a Trigger Tech unit, known for crisp, predictable breaks that don't require guesswork.
The stock deserves its own mention. Adjustable length of pull and cheek rest let you dial in your fit—critical for consistency at distance or when shooting from different positions. Dual front swivel studs give you mounting options for slings or shooting support, and the textured vertical grip keeps your hand planted even when conditions get wet or cold. This is thoughtful rifle design that acknowledges how real shooters work.
The 307 platform sits between Weatherby's historic Mark V and Vanguard lineups, offering a modern, accessible starting point for hunters, long-range competitors, and shooters who value upgradability. Tool-less bolt takedown keeps field maintenance simple, and the M16-style extractor provides reliable case ejection. If you're after a 6.5 Creedmoor that grows with your shooting rather than fighting you, the Range XP deserves a close look.
