The Weatherby Mark V Live Wild 7mm Rem Mag bolt-action rifle pairs legendary action strength with backcountry-ready design. Built in partnership with hunter and content creator Remi Warren, this special edition rifle distills years of field experience into a dependable, accurate hunting tool that doesn't sacrifice weight for capability. The Live Wild weighs just 5.6 lbs, making it a genuine option for hunters who cover serious ground in pursuit of elk, deer, and other big game across varied terrain.

The rifle's foundation is Weatherby's storied Mark V action—a six-lug platform engineered to handle hot commercial cartridges safely and reliably. Its 54-degree bolt throw is the shortest in the industry, delivering smooth, fast cycling when seconds matter in the field. The deeply-fluted bolt reduces weight and bearing surface, contributing to both the rifle's svelte profile and its buttery-smooth operation. A fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports in the bolt body provide redundant safety in the unlikely event of ammunition failure.

Functionality meets aesthetics throughout. The spiral-fluted barrel is threaded 1/2–28 for suppressor use and ships with a recoil-reducing Accubrake ST—a smart pairing for backcountry hunting where muzzle blast can spook game. The entire barreled action wears Carbon Grey Cerakote for weather resistance. The Mark V Backcountry-inspired polymer stock features a trim profile, flat-bottomed forend, and ambidextrous palm swells for confident handling, finished in a hand-painted black-and-grey sponge pattern that echoes the Live Wild brand. A custom hinged floorplate engraved with the Live Wild logo adds a final touch of purpose. The TriggerTech trigger is user-adjustable from 2.5 to 5 lbs, letting you dial pull weight to your preference. Aluminum pillar construction in the stock provides structural stability where it counts.

This is a rifle built by a hunter for hunters—no excess, every feature earned through field demands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a suppressor on the Weatherby Mark V Live Wild?

Yes. The spiral-fluted barrel is threaded 1/2–28, and the rifle ships with an Accubrake ST. Both suppressors and other threaded muzzle devices rated for this thread pitch will fit directly.

Is the Mark V action really that strong, and what calibers does it support?

The Mark V uses a six-lug bolt design engineered to safely handle hot commercial cartridges. Weatherby offers the Mark V Live Wild in a range of chamberings, including both Weatherby Magnum cartridges and American classics like the 7mm Rem Mag (this model). The action features a fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports for additional safety margins.

What does the stock feel like, and is it ambidextrous?

The polymer stock echoes the ergonomics of the Mark V Backcountry 2.0 family with a trim profile, flat-bottomed forend, and ambidextrous palm swells for both left- and right-handed shooters. Aluminum pillars provide structural support inside the stock.

How much does it weigh, and is it suitable for backcountry hunting?

At 5.6 lbs, the Live Wild is built for hunters who cover distance. The lightweight design, combined with the short 54-degree bolt throw and streamlined stock, makes it a practical choice for backcountry pursuits where every ounce matters.
