Weatherby MARK V LIVE WILD .240 Weatherby Magnum 26" Bolt-Action Rifle
Weatherby
The Weatherby Mark V Live Wild .257 Weatherby Magnum is a purpose-built backcountry bolt-action rifle developed in partnership with renowned hunter Remi Warren. This is a magnum-chambered rifle engineered for serious hunting adventures where reliability, accuracy, and packability matter equally. Built on Weatherby's legendary Mark V action—the strongest production bolt-action platform available—the Live Wild combines proven performance with modern refinements designed for hunters who demand more from their gear.
What sets the Live Wild apart is its commitment to weight savings without compromise. The spiral-fluted barrel, skeletonized bolt knob, and deeply-fluted bolt combine to bring the rifle in at 5.6 lbs, making it genuinely packable for long treks into unforgiving terrain. Despite the aggressive weight reduction, every component is built tough: the Mark V's nine-lug magnum action safely handles the pressures of hot .257 Weatherby Magnum loads, while Carbon Grey Cerakote on the barrel and receiver shields the action from weather and wear. The included radial Accubrake ST tames recoil—a meaningful feature in a lightweight magnum.
The stock features hand-painted sponge-pattern accents inspired by Warren's Live Wild brand and incorporates the flat-bottomed forend and ambidextrous palm swells proven in the Mark V Backcountry platform. A TriggerTech trigger adjustable between 2.5 and 5 lbs lets you dial in the pull you prefer, while the 1/2–28 threaded barrel accepts a suppressor for those who run one. The custom hinged floorplate bears the Live Wild logo—a subtle nod to the collaborative design philosophy behind this rifle.
The Mark V action itself deserves mention: its 54-degree bolt throw is the shortest in the industry, resulting in fast, smooth cycling. The fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports in the bolt body add another layer of safety, venting pressure in the unlikely event of ammunition failure. This is a rifle built by hunters for hunters—no marketing gimmicks, just solid engineering where it counts.
