The Weatherby Mark V Live Wild 300 PRC is a precision bolt-action rifle purpose-built for serious hunters who demand accuracy and reliability in remote terrain. Developed in partnership with hunting guide and wilderness expert Remi Warren, this rifle strips away unnecessary weight while keeping the legendary Mark V action—one of the strongest platforms in production—at its core. Chambered in 300 PRC, a modern magnum cartridge delivering flat trajectory and hard-hitting performance at distance, the Live Wild is equally at home in alpine hunts, long-range pursuits, and backcountry adventures where every ounce matters.
The rifle's 28-inch spiral-fluted barrel is threaded 1/2"-28 for suppressor compatibility and wears a radial Accubrake ST for recoil management. The fluting reduces weight and bearing surface in the action, resulting in smoother bolt cycling—a practical advantage when you're executing precision shots in the field. The barreled action is sealed under Carbon Grey Cerakote for weather resistance, while the bolt, safety, and skeletonized bolt knob receive a contrasting Graphite Black finish. Tipping the scales at 5.6 lbs, the Live Wild won't exhaust you during long treks to remote hunting grounds.
The ergonomic polymer stock mirrors the proven Backcountry 2.0 design with a trim, flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells, and aluminum pillar construction—all finished with hand-painted black and grey sponge pattern accents inspired by Remi Warren's Live Wild brand. The TriggerTech trigger is externally adjustable across a 2.5- to 5-lb range, allowing you to dial in exactly the break you prefer. A custom hinged floorplate displays the Live Wild logo, marking this special edition's heritage and purpose.
Under the hood sits the Mark V's legendary multi-lug bolt system, designed to safely handle magnum pressures with a distinctive 54-degree throw—the shortest in the industry for fast, smooth cycling. Three gas relief ports in the bolt body add an extra layer of safety, while the fully-enclosed bolt shroud protects you and the action. This is a rifle engineered for hunters who hunt hard and expect their gear to keep up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Mark V Live Wild 300 PRC suitable for long-range hunting?
Yes. The 300 PRC is a modern magnum cartridge designed for extended-range performance with a flat trajectory. Combined with the Mark V's legendary accuracy and the rifle's precision TriggerTech trigger (adjustable 2.5–5 lbs), it's well-suited to hunters pursuing game at distance. The 28-inch spiral-fluted barrel supports consistent velocity and accuracy.
Can I use a suppressor on this rifle?
Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2"-28, which is the standard suppressor thread pitch and compatible with most modern suppressors. The rifle also includes a radial Accubrake ST for recoil management.
How light is the Live Wild, and is it suitable for backcountry hunting?
The rifle weighs approximately 5.6 lbs, making it one of the lighter magnum hunting rifles in production. The lightweight design, combined with the ergonomic polymer stock and compact 54-degree bolt throw, makes it practical for backcountry hunts where weight and speed matter. The spiral-fluted barrel and skeletonized bolt knob contribute to the reduced weight.
