The Weatherby MARK V Live Wild .270 WBY is a purpose-built backcountry hunting rifle developed in collaboration with accomplished hunter Remi Warren. Built on Weatherby's legendary Mark V action—known as one of the strongest bolt systems in the field—this 28-inch rifle brings together precision, reliability, and weight discipline for serious mountain hunters and long-range shooters who demand gear that won't quit when conditions get rough.
At 5.6 lbs, the Live Wild strips away unnecessary bulk without compromising capability. The spiral-fluted barrel is finished in Carbon Grey Cerakote and threaded 1/2"-28 for suppressor compatibility, paired with a recoil-reducing Accubrake ST to manage .270 Weatherby Magnum recoil. The action itself features a deeply-fluted bolt and skeletonized bolt knob that lighten the rifle while maintaining the Mark V's legendary 54-degree bolt throw—the shortest in the industry for smooth, fast cycling. Three gas relief ports in the bolt body add a critical safety layer in case of ammunition failure.
The stock is where Remi's vision really shows: a hand-painted polymer design with black and grey sponge-pattern accents inspired by his Live Wild brand, combined with ambidextrous palm swells, a trim flat-bottomed forend, and aluminum pillar construction for durability and ergonomic comfort. The trigger is a TriggerTech unit with external adjustment from 2.5 to 5 lbs, letting you dial in the break you want. A custom hinged floorplate bearing the Live Wild logo caps the whole package—a rifle designed by someone who hunts where it matters, built on an action proven across decades of extreme conditions.
If you're planning backcountry expeditions, high-altitude hunts, or long-range work in unforgiving terrain and need a rifle that balances firepower with pack weight, the MARK V Live Wild is engineered for that mission.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MARK V Live Wild threaded for a suppressor?
Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2"-28, so it's ready for any standard suppressor. It ships with the Accubrake ST muzzle brake installed.
What makes the Mark V action different from other bolt-action designs?
The Mark V features a six-lug bolt system (Weatherby's magnum version uses nine lugs) designed to safely handle the most powerful commercial cartridges. It also has the industry's shortest bolt throw at 54 degrees for fast, smooth cycling, plus three gas relief ports and a fully-enclosed bolt shroud for safety under pressure.
Can I adjust the trigger on this rifle?
Yes. The TriggerTech trigger is externally adjustable, with a pull range from 2.5 to 5 lbs, so you can customize the break to your preference.
How light is this rifle for backcountry hunting?
At 5.6 lbs, the MARK V Live Wild is built lightweight for mountain hunting. The spiral-fluted barrel and skeletonized bolt knob trim weight without sacrificing the strength of the Mark V action.
