The Weatherby Mark V Live Wild .300 Wby Mag is a magnum bolt-action hunting rifle built for backcountry hunters who refuse to compromise on accuracy, reliability, or weight. Developed in partnership with professional hunter Remi Warren, this special edition rifle combines Weatherby's legendary Mark V action with a carefully curated package of features designed to perform across diverse hunting conditions. At 5.6 lbs, it delivers genuine mountain-rifle weight savings without sacrificing the strength needed for magnum cartridges.

The foundation here is Weatherby's Mark V action—the platform renowned for handling the most powerful commercial ammunition on the market. The magnum variant uses nine locking lugs for extreme safety margin, paired with a fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports to vent pressure in case of ammunition failure. The 54-degree bolt throw—the shortest in the industry—means fast, smooth cycling when seconds count. A deeply-fluted bolt reduces weight and minimizes bearing surface for silky-smooth operation.

Weatherby trimmed weight throughout without cutting corners: spiral fluting on the barrel, a skeletonized bolt knob, and a polymer stock with aluminum pillar construction. The 1/2-28 threaded barrel ships with a radial Accubrake ST for recoil reduction and suppressor compatibility. The externally adjustable TriggerTech trigger breaks between 2.5 and 5 lbs, so you can dial it to your preference. Carbon Grey Cerakote on the barreled action and receiver, graphite black on the bolt and safety, and a hand-painted sponge-pattern stock inspired by Remi's Live Wild brand round out the finish.

This is a rifle for serious mountain hunters who spend more time in the field than at a bench, and who understand that a lighter, more ergonomic carry makes for better decisions and more ground covered when the terrain gets steep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?

Yes. The Mark V action is known for accuracy and strength, and the .300 Weatherby Magnum is a proven long-range magnum cartridge. The threaded barrel with included Accubrake ST helps manage recoil, and the externally adjustable TriggerTech trigger allows you to dial in the break weight you prefer for precision shooting.

Can I attach a suppressor to this rifle?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2-28, which is a standard threading for suppressors. The rifle ships with a radial Accubrake ST; you can replace that with a suppressor if desired.

Why is this rifle so light, and does that affect durability?

The Live Wild weighs 5.6 lbs due to a spiral-fluted barrel, skeletonized bolt knob, and lightweight polymer stock—weight-saving features that don't compromise the action's strength. The Mark V magnum action uses nine locking lugs and a fully-enclosed bolt shroud, making it equally safe and durable whether you're carrying it 10 miles or shooting it at the range.

What comes in the box?

The rifle includes a radial Accubrake ST muzzle device installed on the threaded barrel. A custom hinged floorplate with the Live Wild logo is also part of the package.
