The Weatherby Mark V Live Wild 7mm PRC is a purpose-built backcountry bolt-action rifle developed in partnership with renowned hunter Remi Warren. Chambered in 7mm PRC—a modern, efficient magnum cartridge—this rifle combines the legendary strength of Weatherby's Mark V action with features designed for hunters who demand accuracy, reliability, and minimal weight on long treks into remote country. At 5.6 lbs, it won't slow you down when miles matter.

Built on the historic Mark V action, the Live Wild leverages decades of Weatherby engineering. The rifle features a spiral-fluted barrel finished in Carbon Grey Cerakote and threaded 1/2"-28 for suppressor use. It ships with a recoil-reducing Accubrake ST to soften the 7mm PRC's punch. The bolt itself is deeply fluted to shed weight and reduce bearing surface, resulting in smoother, faster operation. A TriggerTech trigger—externally adjustable from 2.5 to 5 lbs—lets you dial in the break you prefer. The skeletonized bolt knob trims more weight without sacrificing control.

The stock echoes the ergonomics of Weatherby's Backcountry 2.0 family: a trim, flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells, and aluminum pillar construction under a polymer shell. Hand-painted black and grey sponge-pattern accents—inspired by Remi Warren's Live Wild brand—give the rifle distinctive character. A custom hinged floorplate marked with the Live Wild logo caps the attention to detail.

The Mark V action is engineered for safety and strength. The 7mm PRC uses a standard action with a six-lug bolt design, capable of handling modern commercial ammunition reliably. A fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports in the bolt body provide redundant safety in case of ammunition failure. The 54-degree bolt throw—shortest in the industry—makes for smooth, rapid cycling. Carbon Grey Cerakote seals the barreled action against the elements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle threaded for a suppressor?

Yes. The spiral-fluted barrel is threaded 1/2"-28, and the rifle ships with a Radial Accubrake ST. This thread pattern is standard for most modern suppressors.

What is the 7mm PRC, and is it a good hunting cartridge?

The 7mm PRC is a modern magnum cartridge available in the Mark V Live Wild. It's designed for long-range hunting with flat trajectory and minimal wind drift. Weatherby manufactures the Mark V in both proprietary Weatherby Magnum chamberings and American classic cartridges; the 7mm PRC falls into the latter category, offering the strength and performance of the Mark V platform in a non-proprietary round.

How much does this rifle weigh?

The Mark V Live Wild starts at 5.6 lbs, making it well-suited for backcountry hunters who need to minimize pack weight without sacrificing accuracy or reliability.

Can I adjust the trigger?

Yes. The TriggerTech trigger is externally adjustable, with a range of 2.5 to 5 lbs pull weight, so you can tailor the break to your preference.

What makes the Mark V action strong enough for magnum cartridges?

The Mark V uses a signature multi-lug bolt system. The standard action (used in the 7mm PRC model) employs a six-lug design, while magnum-action variants use nine locking lugs. All Mark V actions feature a fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports to vent pressure safely in case of ammunition failure.
