The Taylors and Company 1873 Quickdraw 45LC revolving carbine brings authentic Western firearm handling to modern shooters. This lever-action-style revolver carbine chambered in .45 LC splits the difference between a rifle and a handgun, delivering the classic single-action appeal of the Old West in a handy 34-inch overall package. Whether you're into Cowboy Action Shooting, historical reenactment, or just appreciate fine replica firearms, this Taylors and Company carbine offers genuine mechanical simplicity and period-correct aesthetics without the complexity of modern tactical platforms.

Built with a blue-finished steel barrel and case-hardened frame paired to walnut furniture, the 1873 Quickdraw feels substantial in your hands—18 inches of barrel and 4.40 pounds gives you enough heft for a steady aim while staying nimble enough to carry and manipulate quickly. The 6-round cylinder capacity is standard for single-action revolver design, and the blade front sight keeps you pointed where you need to be. This isn't a gun designed by committee; it's a straightforward, historically grounded revolver that rewards shooters who appreciate mechanical reliability and no-nonsense handling.

If you're drawn to .45 LC ballistics, vintage-style shooting sports, or you simply want a rifle-length revolver that stands out at the range, the Taylors and Company 1873 Quickdraw delivers character and function in one compact platform. It's the kind of firearm that works just as well at a Cowboy Action event or a weekend plinking session as it does mounted above a cabin fireplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a revolving carbine and how does it differ from a rifle?

A revolving carbine like the Taylors and Company 1873 Quickdraw is a revolver—it uses a rotating cylinder to hold and fire cartridges—rather than a traditional rifle action like a bolt or lever mechanism. This one is fitted with an 18-inch barrel and extended stock for rifle-like handling and sight radius, bridging the gap between handgun and long gun. It operates as a single-action revolver and appeals to Cowboy Action Shooters and historical enthusiasts.

Is this carbine suitable for Cowboy Action Shooting?

Yes. The 1873-style single-action design, .45 LC chambering, and straightforward mechanical operation make it well-suited to Cowboy Action Shooting competition. Always confirm specific match rules with your event organizer, as equipment requirements can vary.

What ammunition does the 1873 Quickdraw use?

This carbine is chambered in .45 LC (Colt), one of the most iconic and widely available revolver cartridges. Ammunition is readily found at most retailers.

How does the 34-inch length compare to a typical rifle?

At 34 inches overall and 4.40 pounds, this revolver carbine is more compact and lighter than most rifle-length firearms, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or during dynamic shooting. It strikes a balance between the portability of a handgun and the sight radius and control of a carbine.
