With its compact 3-inch barrel and small frame, the 942M delivers eight rounds of .22 Magnum without the punish—making it an approachable choice for training, plinking, or as a dependable backup revolver for those who prioritize shootability and ease of handling.

Built on Taurus's proven double-action/single-action mechanism, the 942M features a transfer bar safety to prevent unintended discharge, serrated ramp front sight, and a drift-adjustable rear sight for quick field zeroing. At just 25 ounces, it won't burden your waistband or pack, and the matte black finish resists corrosion and glare. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Taurus 942M suitable for concealed carry?

Yes. At 25 ounces with a 3-inch barrel and small frame measuring 7.60 inches overall, the 942M is purpose-built for concealment. Its compact profile and low recoil make it a practical choice for deep-carry holsters, ankle rigs, or off-body carry.

What's the difference between .22 WMR and standard .22 LR?

We've specified this revolver as a .22 WMR model. Check the product record carefully to confirm caliber before purchase, as this determines which ammunition the gun safely accepts. Firing the wrong caliber can cause serious damage and injury.

Can I adjust the sights on the 942M?

Yes. The 942M includes a drift-adjustable rear sight and serrated ramp front sight, allowing you to fine-tune zero without specialized tools. The serrated ramp also helps reduce glint and snag.

Is this revolver suitable for beginners?

The 942M's low recoil, manageable eight-round capacity, and straightforward DA/SA operation make it welcoming for shooters developing fundamental skills. Its light weight and minimal muzzle flip encourage follow-up accuracy, making it an excellent training platform.
