The Taurus 942M .22 WMR revolver is a compact, lightweight wheelgun built for shooters who value simplicity and low recoil without sacrificing capacity. With its 2-inch barrel and 8-round cylinder, the 942M combines the reliability of a fixed-sight revolver with the mild ballistics of .22 Magnum—making it equally at home as a concealed-carry backup, a budget-friendly range gun, or a platform for developing fundamental shooting skills. The hard-anodized black finish is tough enough for daily carry while keeping corrosion at bay.
At just 17.80 ounces, the 942M won't weigh you down in an ankle holster, pocket, or waistband carry rig. The small frame and 6.60-inch overall length make it naturally concealable, and the double-action/single-action mechanism gives you the security of a long, deliberate trigger pull in double-action mode or the speed of a cocked single-action shot if you need it. The transfer bar safety is a proven feature that prevents the gun from firing if dropped—a reassuring detail for anyone carrying daily.
Sights are kept simple: a serrated ramp up front and a drift-adjustable rear sight. There's no frills, no rail, no optics base—just iron sights and proven Taurus engineering. If you're building a truck gun, a backup piece, or looking for an affordable revolver to shoot .22 Magnum ammo without the recoil punishment of larger calibers, the 942M is a solid choice that delivers on the old-school revolver promise: point, pull, and go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Taurus 942M suitable for concealed carry?
Yes. At 17.80 ounces with a 6.60-inch overall length and small frame, the 942M is designed for lightweight, discrete carry in an ankle holster, pocket holster, or waistband rig. The compact 2-inch barrel keeps the gun easy to conceal without sacrificing the eight-round capacity of the .22 Magnum cartridge.
What's the difference between .22 WMR and .22 LR in this revolver?
The Taurus 942M fires .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR), which delivers significantly more velocity and energy than standard .22 Long Rifle. This means better penetration and ballistic performance, though the 942M's light weight and small frame keep recoil mild—ideal for training and extended range sessions without fatigue.
Can I manually cock the 942M for single-action fire?
Yes. The 942M is a double-action/single-action revolver, so you can cock the hammer manually for a shorter, crisper single-action trigger pull if you choose, or simply pull through double-action for security and speed in defensive scenarios.
Are the sights adjustable?
The rear sight is drift-adjustable for windage correction. The front sight is a fixed serrated ramp. This setup is simple and proven, keeping the gun reliable and easy to maintain.
