The Taurus 942 2" .22 WMR revolver is a compact, eight-shot wheelgun built for shooters who want a practical, low-recoil option for concealed carry, recreational shooting, or honing marksmanship fundamentals. At just 23.60 oz with a 2-inch barrel and 6.60-inch overall length, this small-frame revolver fits easily into a waistband, ankle, or pocket holster—making it a trusted backup or primary carry gun for those who prefer rimfire performance in a revolver platform.
The 942 chambers .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR), a cartridge that balances manageable recoil with practical terminal velocity for self-defense and training at close range. Its double-action/single-action trigger lets you carry safely with the hammer down and fire DA for rapid first shots, or cock the hammer for a lighter SA trigger on follow-ups. A transfer bar safety mechanism prevents accidental discharge if the gun is dropped or struck.
Sights are straightforward: a serrated ramp front sight and a drift-adjustable rear sight that lets you zero the gun to your preferred point of impact. The matte black finish resists glare and corrosion, and the compact proportions make reloading drills and one-handed operation manageable even for smaller hands. Whether you're training for defensive readiness, plinking at the range, or carrying a lightweight wheelgun you'll actually shoot regularly, the Taurus 942 delivers no-fuss reliability in a package that doesn't demand a lot of your body or your ammunition budget.
