The Taurus 942 .22 LR 3" revolver is a compact, eight-shot rimfire revolver built for shooters who want manageable recoil, straightforward reliability, and genuine carry versatility. With its small frame and 25-ounce weight, this revolver feels naturally balanced in the hand—light enough for extended plinking sessions or casual range time, yet substantial enough to inspire confidence. The .22 LR chambering makes it an excellent choice for new shooters learning fundamentals, recreational target work, or anyone seeking a no-fuss revolver that won't punish your shoulder or wallet with ammunition costs.
The 942 employs a dual-action/single-action trigger mechanism with a transfer bar safety, giving you flexibility in how you shoot it while keeping the gun secure in pocket or waistband carry. The 3-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between sight radius and overall length, and the matte black finish hides wear and keeps things low-profile. Fixed sights—a serrated ramp front and drift-adjustable rear—are simple, reliable, and easy to zero or adjust if needed. This is a straightforward tool with no unnecessary complexity; what you see is what you get.
Whether you're introducing a friend to centerfire discipline, running drills at the range, or carrying a light companion gun, the Taurus 942 delivers functional value without pretense. It's the kind of revolver that works when you need it, doesn't demand special maintenance, and won't break your budget or leave you wincing after a range session.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Taurus 942 good for concealed carry?
Yes. At 25 ounces with a 3-inch barrel and small frame, it's light and compact enough for pocket carry or inside-the-waistband holsters. The transfer bar safety provides security, and the eight-shot capacity gives you reasonable firepower in a .22 LR package.
Can I shoot both .22 LR and .22 WMR in this revolver?
The Taurus 942 is chambered in .22 LR. Refer to the manufacturer or your dealer to confirm multi-caliber capability before attempting to fire any other cartridge.
Are the sights adjustable?
Yes. The front sight is a fixed serrated ramp, and the rear sight is drift-adjustable, allowing you to zero or fine-tune the point of impact without tools beyond a brass punch or sight adjustment tool.
