The Remington 783 HBT Synthetic is a no-compromise .308 Win bolt-action rifle built for shooters who demand accuracy without the premium price tag. That heavy target barrel isn't just for show—it's engineered to settle vibration and deliver consistent shot-to-shot performance that rivals rifles costing significantly more. Whether you're setting up a precision range gun, hunting at distance, or developing loads, this rifle gives you the mechanical foundation to shoot tight groups and improve your skills.

The 783 HBT uses a dual pillar bedded synthetic stock that locks the action in place for repeatable accuracy, paired with an oversized bolt handle for positive operation in any condition. The adjustable CrossFire trigger lets you tune break weight to your preference, and the 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle accepts common suppressors and muzzle devices. An optic rail comes standard, so you're ready to mount glass straight out of the box. The detachable steel magazine holds four rounds in .308 Win, keeping your setup clean and allowing quick magazine swaps at the range or in the field.

Remington engineered the 783 HBT to be a real working rifle, not a safe queen. The black synthetic stock shrugs off weather and hard use, the Supercell recoil pad tames the .308's kick, and integrated sling mounts let you set it up for hunting or tactical work. At 20 inches, the barrel balances portability with velocity and accuracy potential—short enough to handle in tight spaces, long enough to milk performance from the cartridge. This is a rifle that rewards precision and doesn't ask you to empty your bank account to get serious about shooting.

Can I use a suppressor on this rifle?

Yes. The 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle accepts suppressors and other muzzle devices that match that thread pattern, which is standard for .308 Win.

What does the adjustable CrossFire trigger do?

The trigger allows you to adjust the break weight to your preference, giving you the ability to dial in a lighter or heavier pull depending on your shooting style and application—range shooting, hunting, or tactical use.

Is the 783 HBT a good rifle for long-range hunting?

The 20-inch heavy barrel and dual pillar bedded stock provide the mechanical accuracy foundation for distant hunting shots. The .308 Win is a proven long-range cartridge, and the rifle's accuracy-focused design supports precision shooting at extended distances.
