The Remington 783 .308 Win bolt-action rifle in Flat Dark Earth is a no-nonsense workhorse built for hunters and precision shooters who value reliability and value. Chambered in .308 Winchester—one of the most versatile and widely available rifle cartridges—this rifle delivers the power needed for medium to large game hunting, long-range target work, and general shooting applications. The 783 combines proven performance with a feature set that punches well above its price class, making it an easy choice for someone stepping into quality bolt-gun ownership or adding a dependable .308 to the safe.

The heart of the 783 is its 24-inch carbon steel barrel with a matte blue finish, paired with a dual pillar bedded synthetic stock in Flat Dark Earth—a color that works equally well in field conditions or at the range. The stock geometry is comfortable for extended shooting sessions, with a 13 3/8-inch length of pull, 1 5/8-inch comb drop, and 1-inch heel drop. The 10-inch twist rate is optimized for .308 Win ballistics across a wide range of bullet weights.

Handling is straightforward thanks to the two-stage Crossfire trigger, tuned for a clean let-off without fuss. The detachable steel box magazine holds 4 rounds and cycles reliably—no fumbling with internal fed systems when you need to reload. At 8 pounds unloaded and 43 5/8 inches overall, the 783 is manageably sized for vehicle transport, backcountry hikes, or range days. The flat dark earth synthetic stock resists weather, won't shift zero with humidity changes, and requires minimal maintenance.

Whether you're hunting deer and elk, working up handloads, or teaching someone the fundamentals of centerfire rifle shooting, the 783 .308 Win delivers accuracy and reliability in a straightforward package. No unnecessary gadgets—just a rifle that works.
