The Remington 783 HBT Synthetic in 6.5 Creedmoor is a heavy-barrel target rifle built for shooters who want precision performance without the premium price tag. This 20-inch barreled rifle combines a robust heavy target profile barrel with Remington's solid 783 action to deliver the accuracy foundation serious hunters and range shooters need. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering is proven for long-range hunting and competition, delivering excellent ballistics and moderate recoil in a practical platform.
The 783 HBT comes ready to shoot out of the box. The heavy barrel profile minimizes harmonic vibration for tighter groups, while the black synthetic stock provides weather resistance and durability without fuss. Dual pillar bedding stabilizes the action in the stock, and the adjustable CrossFire trigger lets you fine-tune break weight to your preference. An optic rail is already mounted, so you can get glass on it immediately. The 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle accepts suppressors or brakes, giving you flexibility for your setup.
Handling features include an oversized bolt handle for faster operation and a four-round detachable steel magazine that feeds reliably. Sling mounts are included if you plan to carry the rifle afield. The Supercell recoil pad absorbs punishment and stays put without creeping. Whether you're dialing in loads at the bench, stretching shots to distance, or hunting open country where flat-shooting precision matters, the 783 HBT delivers rugged accuracy at a price that won't drain your hunting budget.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included with the 783 HBT, and do I need to buy anything to shoot it?
The rifle ships with an optic rail already mounted, sling mounts, a four-round detachable steel magazine, and a Supercell recoil pad. You'll need to add a scope and ammunition to shoot. If you plan to use a suppressor, the 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle is ready for one.
Can I use this rifle for hunting, or is it just a range gun?
The 783 HBT works for both. The 6.5 Creedmoor is a proven hunting cartridge with excellent long-range ballistics, and the 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle manageable for field use. The heavy barrel provides the accuracy precision hunters appreciate, especially at distance.
Is the magazine removable, and can I get spares?
Yes, the four-round detachable steel magazine can be removed and replaced. You'll want to verify magazine availability through retailers, as some models have limited aftermarket options.
What does the adjustable CrossFire trigger do?
The adjustable CrossFire trigger allows you to customize the break weight to suit your shooting style. Lighter triggers suit precision range work; heavier breaks can be preferred for hunting to reduce accidental discharge risk.
