The Remington 700 SPS .223 Remington is a no-nonsense bolt-action rifle built for precision shooters who demand reliability without the frills or the price tag. This rifle combines Remington's legendary 700 action with a clean 24-inch stainless steel barrel and a practical synthetic stock — making it equally at home on the range, in the field hunting varmints, or zeroing loads for competition. The SPS platform delivers the accuracy hunters and target shooters expect from a 700, with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel and low-maintenance ergonomics that work hard in all weather.

Chambered in .223 Remington with a 1-in-8 twist rate and a 5-round magazine capacity, the SPS handles everything from match ammunition to hunting loads. The 700's time-tested bolt design, paired with Remington's X-Mark Pro externally adjustable trigger, gives you a shooter's rifle that won't fight you on the fundamentals. At 7.25 pounds with a 43⅝-inch overall length and a 13⅜-inch length of pull, it balances enough heft for recoil control with enough compactness for practical handling.

The synthetic stock with overmold grip panels won't swell or shrink with humidity, and the matte finishes on both barrel and furniture resist glint and fingerprints. The rifle comes drilled and tapped for optic mounts and equipped with swivel studs, so you can get glass on it and get to work. This is a rifle that rewards good shooting and doesn't demand constant maintenance — exactly what you want in a dedicated .223 bolt gun.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics can I mount on the Remington 700 SPS .223?

The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard Remington scope base mounts. You'll need to purchase scope rings and a compatible base for your choice of optic — the rifle itself comes ready to accept them without any gunsmithing.

Is the .223 Remington good for hunting?

Yes, .223 Remington is widely used for varmint and predator hunting, and is legal for certain small-game applications depending on your state. It's also a popular choice for target shooting and competition. Check your local hunting regulations for specific game and seasons where .223 is permitted in your area.

Can I easily reload .223 ammunition in this rifle?

The 1-in-8 twist barrel and standard .223 Remington chamber accept both standard and heavier match-grade ammunition, making it suitable for reloaders. As with any reloading, follow published load data carefully and work up loads safely.

What's included with the rifle?

The Remington 700 SPS comes with the rifle, a 5-round hinged floorplate magazine, and swivel studs installed. You will need to purchase scope rings, a base, and ammunition separately.
