The Remington 700 .223 Remington bolt-action rifle combines the legendary accuracy and reliability of America's most-trusted centerfire platform with the affordability hunters and shooters demand. This Model R84149 features a 24-inch barrel in .223 Remington—a nimble, flat-shooting caliber ideal for varmint hunting, predator control, and precision rifle work at intermediate distances. Built on Remington's proven receiver design, this rifle delivers the kind of out-of-the-box accuracy serious shooters expect from a Model 700 without the premium price tag.

The synthetic stock keeps weight down and weather resistance up, making this rifle equally at home on a prairie dog town, behind a shooting bench, or in a truck rack for opportunistic hunting. The matte black finish resists glare and corrosion while the drilled and tapped receiver accepts standard Remington scope bases—you can mount your optic setup without guesswork. Carbon steel construction throughout provides the durability Remington is known for, backed by a rifle that has earned its place as the go-to platform for hunters and shooters across North America.

Whether you're stepping into centerfire shooting, building a varmint rig, or adding a second rifle to your cabinet, the Remington 700 .223 delivers genuine performance and legendary accuracy in a package that won't break the bank. This is a rifle that works—simple, reliable, and ready to shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scope mounts and bases fit the Remington 700 .223?

The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept standard Remington scope base systems. You'll want to verify your specific base and ring combination with the manufacturer or your gunsmith, but the rifle is set up for straightforward scope mounting without additional gunsmithing.

Is the .223 Remington a good choice for varmint hunting?

Yes. The .223 Remington is a popular and effective varmint round, particularly for prairie dogs, coyotes, and similar medium-range predator and small-game hunting. The 24-inch barrel length supports good velocity and flat trajectory typical of the caliber.

Can I shoot this rifle in wet or harsh conditions?

The synthetic stock and matte black finish on all metalwork are both designed to handle outdoor conditions and resist corrosion, making this rifle suitable for hunting and shooting in rain, snow, and humid environments.

What's included with the rifle?

You receive the rifle with receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Scope bases, rings, and optics are sold separately. Always verify local and federal regulations before purchasing any firearm.
