The Remington 700 in .223 Remington is a bolt-action rifle built on one of the most proven and versatile action designs in American shooting. With a compact 16.5" barrel and an overall length of 36.25 inches, this rifle strikes a balance between handling and ballistic efficiency that works well for varmint shooting, target work, or hunting medium game where the .223 is appropriate. The short profile makes it manageable in brush and vehicle, yet the rifle maintains the accuracy potential the 700 platform is known for across generations of shooters and gunsmiths.

Topped with a matte black finish and a Hogue Overmolded stock in matte gray, this rifle prioritizes function over flash. The synthetic stock won't swell with weather, manages recoil, and provides the ergonomic texturing and grip that makes the rifle pleasant to shoot. At 7.5 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day without becoming a chore, and the 1:9 twist rate is optimized for the standard .223 bullet weights that dominate the market. With a 4-round magazine capacity and a 13.375-inch length of pull, this rifle accommodates a wide range of shooters right out of the box.

Whether you're setting up a practical rifle for the range, building a reliable platform for precision work, or looking for a .223 that won't break the bank or your back, the Remington 700 in this configuration delivers the dependability and accuracy that have made this action the choice of hunters, military units, and competitive shooters for decades. The 700 platform also enjoys an enormous aftermarket, so upgrades and customization are always an option down the road.
