The North American Arms Ranger II .22 Mag break-top revolver is a compact, versatile single-action wheelgun purpose-built for shooters who want genuine utility in a pocketable package. This five-shot revolver chambers .22 Magnum—a surprisingly capable cartridge for small game, pest control, and low-recoil target work—and ships with a .22 LR conversion cylinder so you can switch calibers without buying a second gun. That dual-cylinder flexibility makes it an economical choice for hunters, plinking enthusiasts, and anyone who values trigger time at reasonable ammo costs.

The break-top design is fast and intuitive: flip the barrel down, and the star ejector automatically clears spent cases or converts your cylinder in seconds. The 1.63-inch ribbed barrel is short enough for deep concealment or pack carry, yet that rib helps manage recoil and supports sight picture. Bead-blast finish is tough and matte—no glare in the field, and it hides wear better than polished steel. Rosewood bird's-head grips fill your palm naturally without catching on clothing, a detail that matters in the backcountry or at the range when you're cycling through hundreds of rounds.

At 7.4 ounces and just over five inches long, the Ranger II disappears in a jacket pocket or ankle holster. The single-action trigger demands deliberate shot placement—no spraying lead, just careful marksmanship. Whether you're a handgun hunter after rabbits or squirrels, a gardener dealing with varmints, or a shooter who loves the discipline of small-bore precision, this NAA revolver delivers capability without the bulk or recoil of larger calibers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Ranger II come with both cylinders?

Yes. This model includes the .22 Magnum cylinder plus a .22 LR conversion cylinder, so you can swap between calibers without purchasing additional components.

What's the difference between .22 Magnum and the .22 LR cylinder?

The .22 Magnum cylinder is the primary; .22 Long Rifle is the conversion option. Both are low-recoil rifle cartridges suitable for small game, pest control, and target shooting. The conversion cylinder lets you practice affordably or shoot whichever load your hunting or range situation calls for.

Is this revolver good for hunting small game?

The Ranger II's .22 Magnum capability makes it suitable for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and other small game where shot placement and low recoil matter. Its five-shot capacity, compact size, and break-top design support field use, though effectiveness depends on range and shot discipline.

How small is this gun?

At 5.16 inches long and 7.4 ounces, the Ranger II is genuinely pocket-sized and weighs less than a full magazine of most centerfire cartridges. It's designed for deep concealment, pack carry, and situations where a full-size revolver isn't practical.
