The North American Arms Sidewinder 4" .22 Mag/.22LR stainless steel revolver is a compact, versatile rimfire that bridges the gap between casual plinking and practical utility. Built on NAA's reputation for precision small-frame revolvers, the Sidewinder accepts both .22 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle ammunition—just swap cylinders to match your shooting purpose, whether that's hunting small game, target work, or keeping a reliable backup on your hip. The 4-inch barrel strikes a balance: long enough for decent velocity and sight radius, short enough to carry comfortably all day.

Stainless steel construction means you won't be babying this gun. It'll handle field work, camp duty, and daily carry without rust concerns, and the bright finish is easy to keep clean. The fixed post front sight is straightforward and durable—no fancy optics needed for the distances where this gun shines. At just 7.5 inches overall and proportioned for a five-round cylinder, it fits hands and holsters alike without demanding real estate. This isn't a powerhouse; it's a purpose-built .22 that does its job without fuss.

If you're looking for a .22 revolver that handles both magnum and standard velocity loads, packs into camp or truck without complaint, and carries the durability of stainless steel, the Sidewinder delivers straightforward performance. Small-frame revolvers like this excel where precision and reliability matter more than raw stopping power—hunting rabbits and coyotes, dispatching problem varmints, or as a dependable sidearm when .22 ballistics fit the mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use both .22 Magnum and .22 LR ammunition in the Sidewinder?

Yes. The Sidewinder is supplied with cylinders that allow it to fire either .22 Magnum or .22 Long Rifle; you swap cylinders to change calibers. This gives you flexibility to match your ammunition to your specific shooting task.

What's the barrel length and how does it affect velocity?

The Sidewinder has a 4-inch barrel, which provides solid velocity for rimfire loads while keeping the overall revolver compact and easy to carry. This length is a practical middle ground for small-game hunting, target shooting, and utility use.

Is the Sidewinder suitable for hunting small game?

Yes. Built on a proven small-frame platform and chambered in .22 Magnum or .22 LR, the Sidewinder is well-suited for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and similar small game where precision and a lightweight, handy package matter.

How does the compact size affect handling and carry?

At 7.5 inches long and 2 7/8 inches tall with a slim 1 1/16-inch width, the Sidewinder is proportioned for all-day carry in a belt holster or pack without bulk or fatigue. The five-round cylinder keeps weight minimal while offering adequate capacity for field use.
