The North American Arms Ranger II .22 Mag break-top revolver is a compact, lightweight single-action wheelgun built for deep concealment, backup, or trail carry. At just 6.9 ounces with a 1.63-inch barrel, the Ranger II delivers genuine revolver reliability in a package that disappears into a pocket or pack without protest. The break-open cylinder design makes loading, unloading, and maintenance straightforward—no fumbling with swing-out mechanisms in the field. Whether you're a backcountry hunter after small game, a hiker looking for four-legged reassurance, or a shooter who values a no-nonsense defensive option, this .22 Magnum revolver punches above its diminutive weight class.

The Ranger II chambers both .22 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle rounds, giving you flexibility to load what the situation demands. Five shots feed through the break-top action to the cylinder. A full ribbed barrel and bead sight keep your aim true despite the tiny profile, and the bead-blasted finish resists shine and corrosion in rough conditions. Rosewood bird's-head grips fit the hand naturally and add a touch of classic style to a purpose-built tool.

This is a single-action revolver—you'll manually cock the hammer for each shot. That deliberate cycle suits its role as a specialized carry gun or backup piece. NAA has built a reputation on making revolvers this small actually work, and the Ranger II is no gimmick. It won't replace your primary carry, but it fills a genuine niche for shooters and adventurers who need maximum concealability without sacrificing the mechanical simplicity and reliability a revolver offers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Ranger II shoot both .22 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle?

Yes. The Ranger II is chambered for both .22 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle rounds, giving you flexibility to choose your load based on intended use and availability.

Is the Ranger II suitable as a deep-concealment carry gun?

The Ranger II is purpose-built for deep carry and backup roles. At 6.9 ounces with a 5.16-inch overall length, it fits pocket, ankle, or pack carry where larger firearms simply won't. It's not intended as a primary defensive arm but excels in scenarios requiring maximum concealability.

How does the break-top cylinder work?

The Ranger II uses a break-open design: you push the barrel down to open the cylinder and access the chambers directly, rather than swinging out a side plate. A star ejector helps push spent casings free. This makes the gun simple to load, unload, and maintain in the field without specialized tools.
