The Henry Rifle .30-30 Win 20" Lever Action Brass is a modern take on the American classic—a dependable, handy lever-action rifle built for hunting, target work, and anyone who appreciates the mechanical simplicity and charm of traditional firearms. With a compact 20-inch barrel, polished brass receiver, and American walnut furniture, this Henry combines working-gun practicality with the aesthetic appeal that makes lever guns collectible. It's chambered in .30-30 Winchester, a proven cartridge for deer, elk, and medium game hunting at typical hunting distances.

What sets the Henry apart is the marriage of classic lines with thoughtful modern features. The transfer bar safety keeps the gun secure during handling and carry, while drilled and tapped receiver means you can add optics if open sights don't suit your needs. The factory sights—a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with diamond insert and a ramp front with ivory bead—are well-suited to hunting in brush or timber where quick target acquisition matters. At 7.5 pounds and 38.3 inches overall, the rifle handles like a true lever gun should: fast, balanced, and nimble enough for stalking or quick follow-ups.

The five-round magazine capacity and transfer bar action reflect Henry's commitment to safety and reliability. Brass buttplate and swivel studs finish the package—practical touches for hunters who plan to actually use their rifles in the field rather than lock them away. This Henry works beautifully from 50 to 125 yards, the effective range for most lever-gun hunting, and the 1:12 twist rate stabilizes the round reliably through the 20-inch barrel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount a scope on the Henry .30-30?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped for Weaver 63B scope mounts, so you can add optics if you prefer them over the factory sights. The adjustable rear and front sights work well for hunting as-is, but the rail compatibility gives you flexibility.

What game is this rifle suitable for?

The .30-30 Winchester is a proven cartridge for deer, elk, and other large game at moderate ranges. This rifle is effective out to around 125 yards—a realistic hunting distance for lever guns—and is well-suited to timber hunting, brush country, and situations where quick follow-up shots matter.

Is the Henry .30-30 a good rifle for hunting?

Absolutely. The .30-30 is a time-tested hunting cartridge, and the Henry's compact 20-inch barrel, light weight, and balanced handling make it excellent for hunting in dense cover or from a stand. The factory sights are hunting-ready, and the transfer bar safety keeps the gun secure in the field.

What's the magazine capacity?

The rifle holds 5 rounds, which is standard for lever-action .30-30s and plenty for hunting and sport shooting situations.
