The Winchester XPR Left-Hand in .270 Winchester is a purpose-built bolt-action rifle for left-handed hunters who refuse to compromise on accuracy or reliability. Winchester engineered the XPR by combining the time-tested design legacy of the Model 70 with efficient modern manufacturing, delivering a genuinely accurate hunting rifle that won't drain your budget. If you shoot left-handed and want a rifle that handles the field as well as it shoots, the XPR Left-Hand checks every box.

Accuracy starts with the barrel, and Winchester doesn't cut corners here. The XPR's button-rifled barrel is forged from solid chromoly steel and precision-drilled before rifling, then thermally stress-relieved to guarantee straight-shooting performance across seasons and conditions. The barrel floats freely within the stock—no contact points to rob accuracy or transmit recoil through pressure spots. That free-floating design is especially crucial in hunting situations where temperature and humidity swings can throw a less-stable rifle off zero. The recessed target crown protects the muzzle from damage that could affect bullet exit and accuracy.

The M.O.A. Trigger System is the same three-lever precision design found on Winchester's premium Model 70, with adjustable pull weight and zero creep, zero tack-up, and zero overtravel—the hallmarks of a trigger you can trust at the moment of truth. The left-hand bolt and oversize handle are machined from chrome-moly steel with a nickel-Teflon coating for smooth, corrosion-resistant operation in wet conditions. The composite stock and matte Perma-Cote finishes resist the scratches and bumps of backcountry hunts, while the Inflex Technology recoil pad tames .270 Winchester recoil without unnecessary weight. Two-position thumb safety, sling swivel studs, and a detachable box magazine—allowing you to carry spare rounds on dedicated mags instead of loose in your pocket—complete a genuine hunting-ready package.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you're ready to glass and shoot. This is a left-hand rifle built for left-handed shooters, not an afterthought conversion. If you've been forced to compromise with right-hand ergonomics, the XPR Left-Hand ends that search.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Winchester XPR Left-Hand a true left-hand rifle, or a right-hand model configured for lefties?

The XPR Left-Hand is purpose-engineered for left-handed shooters—the bolt, safety, and all operating controls are positioned and designed for left-hand operation. This isn't a conversion; it's the correct rifle for your shooting hand.

What's included with the XPR Left-Hand, and what do I need to add?

The rifle comes with a detachable box magazine and sling swivel studs. The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you'll need to add a scope and rings to complete your hunting setup.

How accurate is the XPR Left-Hand for hunting at distance?

Accuracy depends on shooter skill, ammunition, and optics, but Winchester designed the XPR with proven accuracy fundamentals: button-rifled and free-floating barrel, thermal stress relief, recessed target crown, and the M.O.A. Trigger System found on the Model 70. The .270 Winchester is a capable mid-range hunting cartridge suitable for most North American game.

Does the XPR Left-Hand hold up to rough field use?

Yes. The composite stock and matte Perma-Cote finish are built to resist the scratches, bumps, and weather of real hunting. The nickel-Teflon coated bolt cycles smoothly in wet conditions, and the overall design draws from Winchester's heritage of reliable, durable hunting rifles.
