The Winchester XPR Left-Hand in .243 Winchester is purpose-built for left-handed hunters who refuse to compromise on accuracy or reliability. This bolt-action rifle combines proven Winchester engineering with modern manufacturing efficiency, delivering a rugged, dependable hunting platform that won't empty your wallet. Whether you're pursuing deer, varmints, or honing your marksmanship at the range, the XPR LH offers the precision and field-ready durability that Winchester's reputation has been built on—now configured for the southpaw shooter.
At the core of the XPR's accuracy is a precision button-rifled, free-floated barrel machined from chrome-moly steel. The button-rifling process burnishes the bore's lands and grooves to a smooth finish, which reduces bullet jacket fouling and helps maintain velocity. Thermal stress relief ensures the barrel stays straight and true through temperature swings and humidity changes in the field. The barrel floats freely inside the stock, eliminating contact points that can rob accuracy—a critical detail when your rifle experiences the temperature and humidity variations of a real hunting situation.
The trigger pulling the shots is Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System, the same three-lever design found on the company's premium Model 70. It offers adjustable pull weight with zero creep, zero tack-up, and zero overtravel—features that translate to consistent, predictable trigger breaks when it matters. The advanced polymer composite stock handles the bumps and scratches of the stalk without flinching and provides solid grip even in wet conditions. A matte Perma-Cote finish on the steel receiver and barrel keeps reflections down and corrosion at bay. The detachable box magazine is standard equipment here—a practical feature that lets you carry spare rounds without them rattling loose in your pack.
Built from solid steel with a chrome-moly bolt, the XPR LH features a bolt unlock button, nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt body, a steel recoil lug, and a two-position thumb safety. Inflex Technology recoil pad absorbs punishment, while sling swivel studs and factory drilling and tapping for scope rings mean you're ready to mount glass and get to work right away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Winchester XPR LH suitable for hunting deer?
Yes. The .243 Winchester is a popular, effective cartridge for deer hunting, and the XPR LH's accurate, free-floated barrel and crisp M.O.A. trigger make it a solid choice for this application. The left-hand configuration ensures comfortable, natural shooting for southpaw hunters.
Does the XPR LH come with a scope?
No, the scope is not included. However, the receiver is pre-drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you can install your choice of optics without additional gunsmithing.
What makes the button-rifled barrel accurate?
Button rifling creates a smooth, burnished bore surface that reduces friction and bullet jacket fouling while helping maintain velocity. The XPR's barrel is also free-floating, meaning it doesn't contact the stock except at the recoil lug. This allows the barrel to vibrate freely at its own frequency, which improves consistency. Additionally, the barrel undergoes thermal stress relief to ensure it stays straight and true.
Can I adjust the trigger pull on the M.O.A. Trigger System?
Yes. The M.O.A. Trigger System features adjustable pull weight, and it also offers zero creep, zero tack-up, and zero overtravel for a clean, predictable break every shot.
