The Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in 6.5 PRC is a premium rifle built on one of America's most proven long-range hunting platforms. This 2021 SHOT Show special pairs the legendary pre-64 controlled-feed action with a striking AAA maple stock—a departure from traditional walnut that catches the eye without sacrificing substance. With a 24-inch hammer-forged, free-floating barrel and target crown, this rifle is equally at home on distant ridges or precision shooting benches. It's purpose-built for serious hunters and shooters who want accuracy, reliability, and the kind of craftsmanship that justifies the investment.

The 6.5 PRC chambering delivers the ballistics hunters have come to expect from modern long-range cartridges: flat trajectory, wind-fighting capability, and the energy to ethically take game at extended ranges. The combination of Winchester's time-tested action mechanics with premium steel components and a hand-finished appearance sets this rifle apart from entry-level alternatives. Whether you're glassing canyons for elk or fine-tuning your load at 300 yards, the Model 70 Super Grade offers the precision and reliability that separates a rifle you trust from one you hope works.

Details matter on a rifle of this caliber. The jeweled bolt body and knurled bolt handle aren't just cosmetic flourishes—they reflect the care taken in every aspect of its manufacture. The gloss-finished maple stock with ebony forearm tip and shadowline cheekpiece deliver classic aesthetics with functional ergonomics. Cut checkering ensures your grip stays secure in the field, while the Pachmayr Decelerator pad absorbs recoil impulse. Sling swivel studs come ready for your preferred carry system, and the Super Grade engraved hinged floorplate adds a final touch of refinement.

Winchester's M.O.A. trigger system provides the crisp, predictable break that repeatable shooting demands. The three-position safety keeps the action secure without fiddling, and controlled round feed with controlled ejection ensures reliability when it counts. This is the rifle for hunters who've done their homework and aren't settling for less.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Winchester Model 70 Super Grade good for long-range hunting?

Yes. The 6.5 PRC chambering, free-floating barrel with target crown, and pre-64 controlled-feed action make this rifle well-suited to extended-range hunting applications. The M.O.A. trigger system supports the precision repeatability that long-distance shooting demands.

What comes with this rifle?

The rifle ships with sling swivel studs already installed, a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, and the Super Grade engraved hinged floorplate. No optics or ammunition are included.

Why choose a maple stock over walnut?

The AAA maple stock offers a distinctive visual character and is just as durable as walnut. This 2021 SHOT Show special delivers that crafted appearance while maintaining the functional shadowline cheekpiece, cut checkering, and ebony forearm tip that support accurate shooting.

Does the Winchester Model 70 use standard scope mounts?

The Model 70 receiver accommodates standard Winchester-compatible scope bases. You'll need to mount your own optics and bases to the rifle.
