The Weatherby Sorix Midnight Marsh 12-gauge shotgun is a semi-automatic designed for serious hunters and shooters who demand both reliability and user-friendly controls in the field. Built on Weatherby's field-proven inertia recoil system, this 28-inch, 3-inch chamber gun combines tactical handling features with hunting-grade ergonomics. The Midnight Marsh finish—a hand-painted brush pattern applied in Sheridan, Wyoming, over an Italian-made receiver and barrel coated in durable Cerakote—delivers a shotgun that looks as capable as it performs.
What sets the Sorix apart is its thoughtful control layout. An oversized bolt release button (the slammer), charging handle, and safety are engineered for fast, reliable operation even in wet, cold, or high-stress conditions. The receiver features an aggressive competition-style cut to speed up reloads. The stepped rib paired with a low-profile adjustable (LPA) fiber optic sight gives you swift target acquisition when seconds matter. Best of all, the receiver is drilled and tapped with 8-40 holes, so you can mount optics right out of the box—no gunsmithing required.
Weatherby's Shift System is a standout feature for left-handed shooters. Unlike most shotguns, the Sorix allows you to simply swap the charging handle and safety to configure a true left-handed operation. Combined with adjustable stock shims for cast and comb height, the Sorix adapts to your fit, not the other way around. The stock's textured surfaces and soft cheekpiece ensure a secure, comfortable hold during extended shooting sessions.
The shotgun ships with five Crio Plus choke tubes (cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full), a choke wrench, and a carrying case. Whether you're working waterfowl, upland birds, or clay targets, you have the flexibility to match your shot pattern to the hunt.

Is this shotgun suitable for left-handed shooters?
Absolutely. The Sorix features Weatherby's Shift System, which allows you to swap the charging handle and safety to configure a true left-handed shotgun. Combined with adjustable stock shims, it provides the same ergonomic experience as a dedicated left-handed gun.
What chokes are included, and can I change them?
The Sorix comes with five Crio Plus choke tubes: cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full. A choke wrench and carrying case are included so you can easily swap chokes to match your hunting scenario.
What's the difference between the Midnight Marsh finish and standard finishes?
