The Weatherby Mark V Accumark in 6.5 Creedmoor is a right-handed precision hunting rifle engineered for shooters who demand both long-range accuracy and field reliability. Built on Weatherby's proven Mark V receiver, the Accumark combines a fluted #3 contour barrel with a hand-laid fiberglass stock and aluminum bedding blocks—a recipe that minimizes weight while maintaining the rigidity needed for consistent sub-MOA performance. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering has become the go-to for serious hunters tackling medium to large game at extended ranges, and this rifle's 1-in-8 twist rate is optimized to stabilize modern, high-BC ammunition in that caliber.
The Accumark's two-tone finish—a stainless barrel with graphite black Cerakote paired with matching receiver, bolt, and safety hardware—isn't just for looks. That finish combination protects against corrosion while the darker tone reduces glint in tactical or hunting scenarios. The Monte Carlo fiberglass stock features a raised comb for better scope and iron sight alignment, hand-laid construction for consistency, and spiderweb accents that add grip texture where it counts. At 7.3 pounds, it's light enough for a day in the field yet stable enough on the bench or at distance.
Whether you're working up loads at the range, hunting elk across a basin, or testing your long-range craft, the Accumark delivers the precision and durability Weatherby's reputation is built on. The 24-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between velocity and handling, and the four-round magazine capacity (plus one in the chamber) is standard for hunting rifles in this class. This is a purpose-built rifle for hunters and shooters who understand that accuracy, reliability, and weight matter equally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?
Yes. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering, 1-in-8 twist, and fluted barrel design all support long-range precision. Weatherby built the Accumark specifically for hunters who need accuracy at distance, and the aluminum bedding blocks and hand-laid stock ensure consistency shot to shot.
What does the 1-in-8 twist rate mean for ammunition?
The 1-in-8 twist stabilizes heavier, higher-ballistic-coefficient 6.5 Creedmoor rounds, which is what modern long-range hunters and competitors use. This twist rate is optimized for that ammunition.
Will the fiberglass stock handle field use and hunting conditions?
Yes. Weatherby's hand-laid fiberglass stock with aluminum bedding blocks is designed for durability and consistency in any weather. The matte gel coat finish resists gloss and reflection, and the spiderweb accents provide texture for a secure grip in wet or gloved conditions.
What is the weight and why does it matter?
The Accumark weighs 7.3 pounds, making it light enough to carry all day in the field while remaining stable enough for precision shooting from a rest or supported position. The fluted barrel helps achieve this weight savings without sacrificing the barrel stiffness needed for accuracy.
