The Taylors & Co Smoke Wagon is a .45 LC revolver built for shooters who want a period-correct single-action without the guesswork. This Taylor Tuned 5.5" model splits the difference between the short and long barrels—11 inches overall—giving you a balanced platform that works equally well at the range, in a holster, or on the trail. The .45 LC chambering has become the thinking person's cowboy cartridge: less recoil and blast than magnum loads, accurate enough for precision work, and steeped in genuine Wild West heritage.

Taylors & Co doesn't just slap together a 1873-pattern revolver and call it done. The Smoke Wagon gets real attention to function: widened sight channel and a widened front blade so you can actually see what you're shooting at, checkered walnut grips that sit right in your hand, and that classic blue finish over case-hardened frame that looks like it rode out of the 1880s. Six-round capacity, 2.30 pounds—light enough to carry all day, heavy enough to settle down in recoil.

This is a revolver for the shooter who knows the difference between nostalgia and craftsmanship. Whether you're competing in Cowboy Action, hunting, or just spending time at the range on a firearm that actually rewards good technique, the Smoke Wagon delivers genuine performance wrapped in authentic aesthetics. No plastic, no rail, no apologies.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this Smoke Wagon and other .45 LC single-actions?

The Taylor Tuned designation means Taylors & Co has refined the action and sights beyond the basic 1873-pattern revolver. The widened sight channel and front blade are factory upgrades specifically designed to improve accuracy and target acquisition—not standard on all reproductions.

Is the .45 LC revolver good for hunting or just Cowboy Action shooting?

The .45 LC is versatile. It's mild enough for extended range sessions and competition, yet capable enough for hunting when loaded appropriately. The Smoke Wagon's sights and balance make it equally at home at a shooting match or in the field.

What comes in the box?

Does this revolver work with modern holsters?

The Smoke Wagon is a standard 1873-pattern single-action. Most leather and kydex holsters built for that profile will fit, but always verify fit with your specific holster before carrying or using in competition.
