The Taylors & Co Smoke Wagon Taylor Tuned is a .357 Magnum revolver purpose-built for shooters who demand speed and accuracy in competitive shooting and serious defensive work. This 5.5-inch barrel single-action delivers the classic lines of a Peacemaker-style revolver with modern ergonomic refinements—a no-nonsense six-shot wheelgun that balances heritage aesthetics with real-world handling improvements from Taylor's action tuning.

The "Taylor Tuned" designation means this revolver has been enhanced for faster lock time and smoother trigger control straight out of the box. That matters when you're working through drills or moving between targets. The widened front blade and enlarged sight channel give you a faster sight picture than stock variants, whether you're drawing from the hip or settling into a deliberate aim. Checkered walnut grips provide secure purchase and classic appeal, while the case-hardened frame paired with the blue barrel finish strikes that functional-elegant balance that makes single-actions special.

At 2.3 pounds and 11 inches overall, the Smoke Wagon carries without bulk and swings naturally in the hand—a real consideration if you're running this gun in a holster rig for competition, sport shooting, or backcountry carry. The .357 Magnum chamber means you can also run lighter .38 Special loads for practice or reduced-recoil work, giving you flexibility without buying a second gun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot .38 Special in this revolver?

Yes. Chambered in .357 Magnum, the Smoke Wagon will safely fire .38 Special ammunition—a useful option for lower-recoil practice or reduced-power loads.

What is Taylor tuning and how does it help?

Taylor tuning refers to Taylors & Co's factory action work, which improves lock time and trigger control. You get a faster, cleaner trigger break and improved ignition reliability out of the box—advantages in both competition and defensive scenarios.

Is this gun suitable for concealed carry or holster work?

The Smoke Wagon's 5.5-inch barrel and 11-inch overall length make it more suited to open carry or sport shooting than deep concealment. Its weight and balance are designed for comfortable holster wear and natural handling during shooting drills.

What sights does it have?

The revolver features a widened front blade and an enlarged sight channel—improvements over standard models that allow for faster sight acquisition and easier target alignment.
