The Taurus Raging Hunter .460 S&W Magnum revolver is a large-frame, six-shot big-bore built for hunters who need serious stopping power at close to medium range. This is a purpose-built hunting revolver—not a target gun, not a carry piece—engineered to handle the recoil and ballistics of one of the most powerful magnum cartridges in a revolver platform. The oxide finish gives it a rugged, no-nonsense aesthetic that matches its mission.
What sets the Raging Hunter apart is its attention to controllability. The ported barrel and internal gas expansion chamber work together to manage muzzle lift, which matters enormously when you're trying to get a quick, accurate second shot at game. The angular barrel design trims weight without sacrificing the heft you need for recoil management. Cushioned grips are there because shooting full-power .460 loads demands comfort and control—you'll appreciate them after a day at the range or in the field. A Picatinny rail on top lets you mount a scope, which many hunters will want for precision at extended ranges.
The revolver uses a traditional double-action/single-action trigger, a fixed front sight, and an adjustable rear sight. A transfer bar safety and dual-lockup cylinder are there to keep things secure. At 53 ounces unloaded and just under 12.6 inches overall, it's heavy enough to absorb recoil but still portable for a hunting trip. Stainless steel barrel paired with alloy steel frame in matte finishes will stand up to field use.
This is a revolver for hunters serious about big-bore hunting with a handgun. It's reliable, it's powerful, and it's built to work hard.
