The Taurus M605 .357 Magnum revolver is a compact, dependable wheelgun built for shooters who need serious stopping power in a pocket-sized package. With a 2-inch stainless steel barrel and five-round cylinder, this small-frame revolver delivers the full authority of .357 Magnum or .38 Special from a gun light enough to carry all day and rugged enough for the trail or truck. At 24 ounces, it's a genuine backup, off-duty, or deep-carry option for anyone who values simplicity and reliability over capacity.
The M605 comes with a smooth double-action/single-action trigger and fixed front sight, making it straightforward to shoot fast and operate intuitively under stress. The Taurus Security System—a transfer-bar safety mechanism—keeps the gun safe in the holster and your hand. Rubber grips soak up recoil from magnum rounds, so follow-up shots stay on target. Stainless steel construction handles tough conditions without fussing over maintenance, and the compact profile means this revolver fits where most semi-autos don't.
Whether you're loading up for backcountry defense, need a pocket carry gun, or want a no-nonsense revolver for bedside peace of mind, the M605 does what revolvers do best: it goes bang, every time, with zero fuss. No safeties to forget, no magazines to drop, no jamming. Just point and shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions
What calibers does the Taurus M605 shoot?
The M605 is chambered in .357 Magnum and also safely fires .38 Special ammunition, giving you flexibility at the range and in the field.
Is the M605 small enough to carry every day?
Yes. At 24 ounces and 6.5 inches long with a small frame, the M605 is designed as a genuine carry gun. It fits inside-the-waistband holsters, ankle rigs, and jacket pockets where larger revolvers and semi-autos won't.
How does the Taurus Security System work?
The Taurus Security System is a transfer-bar safety mechanism. It prevents the firing pin from striking the primer unless the trigger is fully pressed. This is a standard revolver safety feature that keeps the gun secure in the holster and during handling.
Does the M605 have an external safety lever?
No. The M605 relies on the Taurus Security System transfer-bar mechanism for safety rather than a manual external safety lever. The revolver is naturally safe when the hammer is down and the trigger is not pressed.
