The Taurus 605 Polymer .357 Magnum revolver is a compact, lightweight wheelgun built for shooters who need serious stopping power in a package that won't slow them down. At just 20.2 ounces with a 2-inch barrel, this five-shot .357 Magnum is equally at home in an ankle holster, a jacket pocket, or riding on your belt during a day in the field. The polymer frame cuts weight without sacrificing durability, while the fixed sights—including a red fiber optic front sight for quick target acquisition—are designed for real-world defensive use or backup carry.
The 605 Polymer uses a traditional double-action/single-action trigger with a smooth, predictable press. That means you can ride the hammer back for precision shots at distance, or work the trigger from a ready position when speed matters most. Taurus backs the gun with their Security System transfer bar, which provides an extra layer of safety during handling and holstering. Hard rubber grips provide a positive purchase whether your hands are wet or you're working in challenging conditions.
This is a revolver for working shooters—hunters who want a backup, outdoors types who value reliability, and anyone building a practical defensive lineup. There's no magazine to lose, no slide to manipulate in a bad moment, and no mystery about whether a round will fire. Point it, pull the trigger, and move on.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Taurus 605 Polymer suitable for concealed carry and backup roles?
Yes. At 20.2 ounces with a compact 2-inch barrel, the 605 Polymer is lightweight and small enough for ankle carry, deep cover, or backup duty. The polymer frame keeps weight down without compromising durability, making it practical for all-day carry.
What sights does the Taurus 605 Polymer have?
The 605 Polymer comes with a fixed red fiber optic front sight and a fixed rear sight. The fiber optic front sight aids quick target acquisition in both daylight and low-light conditions.
Can I shoot .38 Special in a .357 Magnum Taurus 605?
Revolvers chambered in .357 Magnum will safely fire .38 Special ammunition. Many shooters use .38 Special for practice or reduced-recoil shooting in .357 Magnum guns.
What is the Taurus Security System, and why does it matter?
The Taurus Security System is a transfer bar safety mechanism that prevents firing unless the trigger is deliberately pressed. It provides an extra margin of safety during handling, holstering, and unintended contact with the trigger.
