The SCCY Industries CPX-4 is a compact .380 ACP pistol built for shooters who want reliable, no-nonsense performance in a carry-friendly package. At just 15 ounces with a 5.70-inch overall length, this DAO (double-action-only) design strikes a practical balance between shootability and concealability—whether you're heading to the range or carrying daily. The CPX-4's polymer frame and stainless steel slide keep things light without sacrificing durability, while the 2.96-inch barrel gives you the velocity you need from a compact platform.

SCCY's Roebuck Quadlock technology and optimized recoil system work together to manage .380 ACP's modest recoil and keep you on target. The 9-pound trigger pull is consistent and predictable in DAO fashion—no safety-decock gymnastics, just a straightforward press. The external safety adds a mechanical layer of security, making the CPX-4 genuinely safe to carry without a holster retention struggle. Ten rounds of capacity, plus one in the chamber, gives you solid on-board ammunition for a gun in this size class.

Sights are G-43 style, keeping you in the budget-friendly zone for replacements and upgrades—and SCCY offers a red-dot-ready version if you're thinking about mounting a compact optic. The 1.10-inch width makes for easy waistband carry, and the stainless slide resists corrosion from sweat and gear wear. If you're shopping for a straightforward, affordable .380 that doesn't compromise on function, the CPX-4 delivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CPX-4 a good everyday carry pistol?

Yes. At 15 ounces and 5.70 inches long with a 1.10-inch width, the CPX-4 is designed for daily carry. The double-action-only design and external safety make it straightforward to carry safely, and the compact size fits most IWB holsters without printing heavily.

What's the difference between the standard CPX-4 and the red-dot-ready version?

SCCY offers a red-dot-ready variant of the CPX-4 with a milled slide to accept a compact reflex sight. The standard version shown here uses G-43 style iron sights. Both are identical otherwise.

How does the .380 ACP compare for self-defense in a compact pistol?

The .380 ACP is a proven, manageable round in a compact platform. Recoil is mild, and capacity—10+1 here—offsets the cartridge's lower energy. Modern defensive ammunition makes it a legitimate choice for concealed carry, especially when shot placement matters more than raw stopping power.

What is SCCY's Roebuck Quadlock system?

It's SCCY's proprietary recoil and reliability system. In the CPX-4, it optimizes the blowback operation to reduce felt recoil and improve reliability and consistency shot to shot.
