The SCCY Industries CPX-4 .380 ACP pistol is a no-nonsense compact carry gun built for shooters who prioritize reliability and simplicity. At just 15 ounces with a 2.96-inch barrel, it's light enough to pocket or appendix carry without printing, yet substantial enough to point naturally when you need it. The CPX-4's double-action-only trigger and external safety make it intuitive for defensive use—no manual safety to forget under stress, no magazine disconnect to fumble. If you're shopping for a backup carry piece, a truck gun, or your first defensive handgun, this is a straightforward tool that does one thing well.

What sets the CPX-4 apart is SCCY's Quadlock recoil system, engineered to manage the snappier recoil profile of .380 ACP in such a small frame. The result is a pistol that's pleasant enough to practice with regularly, which matters because you'll actually use it. Ten rounds of .380 ACP in the magazine plus one in the chamber gives you real-world defensive capacity without the larger footprint or recoil management issues you'd fight with a centerfire compact. The stainless steel slide and polymer frame hold up to daily carry and don't rust in a truck or boat.

The 9-pound trigger pull is consistent across the entire press—no surprises mid-press—and the G-43 style sights are daylight-visible without being bulky. This black-on-black model is available, and if you're a red-dot enthusiast, SCCY makes a red-dot-ready variant if that's your preference. For the price point and mission set, the CPX-4 is a practical carry option that doesn't overcomplicate the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CPX-4 good for everyday carry?

Yes. At 15 ounces and 5.70 inches long, the CPX-4 is slim and light enough for pocket, appendix, or IWB carry. The stainless slide handles moisture and daily wear, and the polymer frame keeps it from becoming a burden during an 8+ hour carry day. The double-action trigger and external safety are straightforward enough for anyone to train with consistently.

What's the trigger pull on the CPX-4?

The trigger pull is a consistent 9 pounds across the entire press, with no stage or surprise break. It's predictable and suited to defensive use without being light enough to invite negligent discharges during holstering or draw.

Can I mount a red dot on the CPX-4?

This black/black model is not red-dot ready. However, SCCY manufactures a red-dot-ready variant of the CPX-4 if you want to run a micro optic. Check the variant options to see if that configuration is available.

How many rounds does the CPX-4 hold?

The magazine holds 10 rounds of .380 ACP, and you can chamber an 11th round for a loaded capacity of 10+1.
