The SCCY Industries CPX-4 .380 ACP is a compact, polymer-framed pistol built for shooters who want a no-nonsense carry gun that handles like a larger defensive handgun despite its modest size. At just 15 ounces with a 2.96-inch barrel and overall length of 5.70 inches, the CPX-4 fits deep in a waistband or pack without the bulk or recoil signature of a 9mm—making it an approachable choice for first-time handgun owners, backup carry, or anyone seeking a lighter-recoiling personal defense option.

SCCY's Roebuck Quadlock technology and optimized recoil system work together to manage the .380's mild push, keeping the gun stable and controllable shot to shot. The double-action-only (DAO) trigger at 9 pounds promotes consistent technique and safety, while the external safety adds a redundant layer of peace of mind. You're looking at a stainless steel slide paired with a polymer frame—a time-tested combination that balances durability with manageable weight.

The CPX-4 ships with G-43 style sights and is available in a red-dot-ready variant if you want to mount an electronic sight; the black and gray finish resists corrosion and blends into most carry setups. With a 10+1 round capacity, you get a realistic magazine plus one in the chamber—useful for practice and self-defense without adding appreciable weight or thickness to the pistol.

This is straightforward, honest carry hardware: no frills, solid ergonomics, and the kind of reliability that comes from proven design. Whether you're building a truck gun, adding to a rotation, or seeking your first concealed-carry pistol, the CPX-4 does the job without apology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CPX-4 good for concealed carry?

Yes. At 15 ounces, 5.70 inches long, and just 1.10 inches wide, the CPX-4 is designed for deep carry and minimal printing. Its compact profile makes it suitable for IWB holsters, off-body carry, or truck/pack storage without significant bulk.

What's the difference between the standard CPX-4 and the red-dot-ready version?

The standard CPX-4 comes with G-43 style iron sights. The red-dot-ready variant is cut to accept a reflex-style optic on top of the slide. Both fire the same and carry identically; the choice depends on whether you want to add an electronic sight.

Why choose .380 ACP over 9mm?

The .380 delivers less recoil and a softer impulse, making it manageable for shooters sensitive to recoil, or ideal as a backup/secondary gun. The CPX-4's light weight and modest power envelope make it an effective choice for personal defense without the snap of a 9mm in such a compact frame.

What's included with the CPX-4?

The CPX-4 ships with one 10-round magazine and sights. Holster and additional magazines are sold separately.
