The North American Arms Ranger II .22 WMR revolver is a compact, nimble single-action wheelgun built for shooters who value portability without sacrificing usable firepower. With its 4-inch barrel and fixed bead sight, this .22 Magnum delivers the ballistics and accuracy you need for small game, varmint control, or general plinking at a weight of just 8.1 ounces—light enough to carry all day without fatigue. The Ranger II is the kind of revolver that earns its place in a truck, backpack, or on your hip when you're working land or heading into the field.

At 7.5 inches overall length, the Ranger II strikes a practical balance between shootability and concealability. The break-open cylinder and star ejector make reloading straightforward, while the full ribbed barrel adds rigidity and helps manage recoil across rapid strings of fire. The bead blast finish is functional and understated—no mall-ninja shine, just a working gun that won't flash in the sun. Rosewood boot grips provide a secure, comfortable purchase, and the single-action trigger breaks cleanly for precision shooting.

One standout feature: North American Arms offers a .22 Long Rifle conversion cylinder (sold separately as NAA-22MC-R), which gives you the flexibility to run .22 LR ammunition through the same gun. That dual-caliber capability makes the Ranger II a smart investment if you want to keep shooting costs down on practice days while keeping the authority of .22 Magnum when it matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot .22 Long Rifle ammunition in the Ranger II?

The Ranger II ships as a .22 Magnum revolver, but North American Arms offers an optional .22 Long Rifle conversion cylinder (model NAA-22MC-R, sold separately) that allows you to safely fire .22 LR in the same gun. This lets you practice affordably while keeping .22 Magnum loaded for when accuracy and power matter.

Is the Ranger II suitable for small game hunting or varmint work?

Yes. The .22 Magnum chambering, 4-inch barrel, and fixed bead sight make the Ranger II viable for small game and varmint control at reasonable distances. Its light weight and compact size also make it convenient to carry in the field or while working land.

What's included with the Ranger II?

The Ranger II ships with rosewood boot grips installed and the 5-shot .22 Magnum cylinder. The .22 LR conversion cylinder is sold separately (NAA-22MC-R). No other accessories are included; this is the gun and grips only.

How light is the Ranger II, and will it be comfortable to carry?

At 8.1 ounces, the Ranger II is one of the lightest revolvers in its class. Its compact footprint (7.5 inches long, 2.77 inches tall) makes it easy to pack in a daypack, truck console, or on a belt. The rosewood boot grips provide a secure hold despite the light weight.
