The Mossberg 500 Combo Field/Deer 12ga pump shotgun is a no-nonsense, two-barrel workhorse that covers both open-country hunting and dense brush in one package. This 3" chamber shotgun comes with a 28" vent-rib barrel for field work and a shorter 24" fully-rifled barrel for slug hunting, plus a 2.5x20mm scope mounted and ready. It's the kind of versatile gun that lets you hunt turkey in the morning and switch to deer slug loads in the afternoon without swapping firearms. The 500 platform is famous for reliability in the field—it's been a standard for hunters and sport shooters for decades, and this combo setup capitalizes on that reputation by giving you two different hunting scenarios in one trusted design.

Built with a synthetic dual-comb stock in black, this shotgun handles wet weather and rough country without flinching. The fixed 13.87" length of pull works for most shooters in standard gear, and the overall length varies between 48.5" (field barrel) and 44.5" (deer barrel) depending on which you're running. At 7.5 lbs with the longer barrel and 7.25 lbs with the slug gun, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to absorb recoil. The 5+1 capacity gives you six rounds ready to go, and the Accu-Set choke system on the field barrel lets you fine-tune your pattern for the birds you're after.

Whether you're a newcomer learning the fundamentals or a seasoned hunter who values simplicity and proven performance, the Mossberg 500 Combo delivers. The included scope and two-barrel setup means less guesswork about what you need—you're equipped for multiple hunting applications right out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition does this shotgun shoot?

Can I use the scope on the deer barrel?

The Dead Ringer 2.5x20mm scope comes mounted and is intended for slug hunting with the rifled 24" barrel, where the scope's magnification helps with accuracy at deer-hunting distances.

Is this shotgun good for a beginner?

The Mossberg 500 pump action is straightforward to operate and maintain, and the included scope and two-barrel setup mean you have everything needed to start hunting field and deer without additional purchases. Many hunters learn on this platform.

What's included in the box?

The combo includes both barrels, the scope, and the shotgun ready to shoot. Check with Bosque Outdoors for any additional accessories or documentation included with your purchase.
