The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver with 16" barrel and adjustable sights delivers affordable, reliable rimfire shooting for plinking, small-game hunting, or backyard target work. Built on Heritage's time-proven single-action platform, this blue-finished revolver combines honest craftsmanship with the kind of value that lets you shoot without worrying about the cost per round. The 16" barrel stretches sight radius and velocity while keeping the gun manageable for extended range sessions, and the adjustable sights let you dial in your load and distance instead of working around fixed settings.

Single-action revolvers have earned their reputation for durability and simplicity, and the Rough Rider carries that legacy. The longer barrel makes it a natural fit for shooters who want to stretch their accuracy, whether you're zeroing in on tin cans at 25 yards or hunting cottontail and squirrel. The blue finish presents a classic aesthetic that'll age gracefully in the field or at the bench.

If you're new to handgun shooting or looking for a no-frills .22 that won't break the bank, the Rough Rider rewards straight shooting and trigger control—the things that actually matter. It's the kind of gun that teaches good fundamentals and eats every round you feed it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider good for plinking and target shooting?

Yes. The .22LR chambering, adjustable sights, and 16" barrel make it well-suited to accurate shooting at reasonable distances. Low recoil and cheap ammunition encourage trigger time and skill development.

What's the advantage of the 16" barrel on a revolver?

A longer sight radius improves accuracy potential, and the extended barrel generally produces higher velocity from .22LR ammunition. It's a trade-off: less convenient to carry than a shorter gun, but better for deliberate target work and hunting.

Can I hunt small game with this revolver?

The .22LR is traditional for hunting small game like squirrel and cottontail rabbit, and the adjustable sights let you dial in precise aim. Success depends on your skill, shot placement, and local game laws.

Are the sights user-adjustable?

Yes, the revolver features adjustable sights so you can zero the gun to your load and intended range rather than relying on fixed sight settings.
