The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver in black and gold is a no-frills, high-fun rimfire handgun built for backyard plinking, varmint control, and learning single-action fundamentals without breaking the bank. This 4.75-inch barreled model chambers .22 LR and holds six rounds in an alloy steel cylinder, delivering the classic profile and satisfying mechanical action of a traditional single-action revolver in a caliber that's affordable to shoot and easy to master.

The black-on-black aesthetic gets a touch of class from the gold PVD accents that complement the black laminate grips and black oxide cylinder and frame finish. Fixed sights—a blade up front and a notch at the rear—keep things simple and reliable. At 11.78 inches overall and weighing in as a genuinely portable handful, this Rough Rider works equally well as a truck gun, a starter revolver for new shooters, or a dedicated .22 for extended range sessions where you want to shoot a lot without the recoil or ammo cost of centerfire options.

Heritage built this gun with the same manual safety and hammer-fired single-action trigger found on their bigger centerfire models, so if you've shot a .357 or .45 Colt Rough Rider, the operation will feel immediately familiar. The .22 LR chambering and modest size make it a practical choice for shooters of any experience level who want authentic revolver mechanics without the price tag of premium rim- or centerfire alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR good for beginners?

Absolutely. The single-action operation is straightforward, the .22 LR cartridge produces minimal recoil and noise, and the fixed sights are intuitive. It's an ideal platform for learning revolver mechanics and building trigger control without flinch or fatigue.

Can I shoot .22 WMR in this revolver?

No. This model is chambered exclusively in .22 LR. Heritage does offer Rough Rider models with two-cylinder combos that allow you to swap between .22 LR and .22 WMR, but this specific variant is single-cylinder .22 LR only.

What comes in the box?

The revolver ships with one alloy steel cylinder chambered in .22 LR. No additional cylinders or accessories are included.

Is this revolver suitable for plinking and varmint control?

Yes. The low ammo cost, manageable recoil, and reliable fixed-sight accuracy make .22 LR single-action revolvers popular choices for backyard plinking, pest control around property, and general range use where precision is secondary to fun and affordability.
