The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver with 6.5" barrel is a lightweight, affordable single-action rimfire that delivers honest fun at the range, in the backyard, or on the farm. If you've been looking for a budget-friendly way to train on classic revolver mechanics, control small game and varmints, or simply enjoy the tactile satisfaction of a working single-action—without the recoil or ammunition cost of centerfire—this tungsten-finished .22LR gets the job done. The fixed sights and six-round capacity make it straightforward to shoot accurately at moderate distances, and the poly grip with star design provides a comfortable, no-fuss hold.

Heritage built this Rough Rider with the same proven single-action profile as their centerfire models, so if you own a bigger Heritage revolver, you'll recognize the action and ergonomics immediately. The zinc alloy frame is treated with Cerakote tungsten finish for corrosion resistance and a modern look, while the alloy steel cylinder and barrel wear black oxide—a proven, durable combination. At just over 33 ounces unloaded, it's light enough for extended shooting sessions without fatigue.

This is a no-frills, purpose-built .22LR: single cylinder, manual safety, fixed front and rear notch sights. You won't find tactical rails or adjustable optics mounts here—just a timeless revolver design that works. Whether you're introducing a new shooter to single-action mechanics, plinking at the range, or keeping one handy for light farm and pest control, the Rough Rider .22LR delivers reliable performance at a price point that won't hurt your wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included when I buy this Heritage Rough Rider .22LR?

You receive one .22LR cylinder and the revolver itself. There is no combo second cylinder in this version—if you want the flexibility to shoot both .22LR and .22 WMR, you'd need to order a two-cylinder model separately.

Is this .22LR revolver good for beginners or training?

Yes. The single-action mechanism and fixed sights teach fundamentals without the distraction of recoil, and .22LR ammunition is affordable in bulk. The manual safety requires deliberate handling, which reinforces safe gun handling habits from the start.

Can I use this revolver for pest control or small game?

The .22LR is effective for varmints, small game, and farm pests at close to moderate range. The 6-round capacity and fixed sights make it suitable for that purpose, though you'll want to assess your specific application.

What do the fixed sights mean, and can I adjust them?

Fixed sights are permanently set at the factory and cannot be adjusted by the user. The front sight is fixed, and the rear sight is a notch cut into the revolver body. If your point of aim doesn't match the point of impact, fixed sights cannot be tweaked—you'll need to compensate by adjusting your aim or consider a different firearm with adjustable sights.
