What sets the Rough Rider apart is its simplicity. Fixed open sights keep things uncomplicated, and the steel barrel and cylinder deliver reliable accuracy at practical distances. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider a good training revolver?

Yes. The single-action mechanism teaches proper trigger control and deliberate aiming, and .22 Long Rifle is affordable for extended practice. The fixed sights and simple operation make it a natural stepping stone to larger-caliber handguns or other shooting disciplines.

What's the Heritage Rough Rider used for?

It's commonly used for recreational shooting, training, small-game hunting, backyard plinking, and as a dependable companion gun. The .22 Long Rifle caliber keeps recoil minimal and cost per shot low, making it accessible for shooters of all experience levels.

Can I carry a 6-inch Heritage Rough Rider?

Carrying a 6-inch revolver is possible but depends on your holster options and local laws. At 33.4 ounces with a 6-inch barrel, it's more suited to belt carry or backpack carry than deep concealment. Check your local regulations before carrying any firearm.

What ammunition does the Rough Rider use?

The Heritage Rough Rider is chambered in .22 Long Rifle (.22LR), one of the most affordable and widely available rimfire cartridges in North America.
