The Heritage Rough Rider 16" .22LR revolver is a single-action rimfire built for shooters who want genuine range performance without breaking the bank. With a 16-inch barrel and fixed sights, this six-shooter splits the difference between a compact plinking gun and a true long-range .22—think of it as a modern take on the classic Buntline single-action, scaled for .22 LR. Whether you're working steel at the range, hunting small game across your property, or just enjoying trigger time on a budget, the extended sight radius and barrel length deliver surprising accuracy. The black pearl grips and black oxide finish give it a clean, purposeful look that won't distract from the fundamentals.
Heritage built this revolver around simplicity and reliability. Single-action operation means you control every shot, and the manual safety keeps things secure when you're carrying or storing it. At just over 45 ounces unloaded, it's hefty enough to point naturally and manage recoil—minimal as .22 LR is—without feeling unwieldy. The zinc alloy frame paired with steel barrel and cylinder keeps weight down while the black oxide finish resists surface rust if you're working outdoors.
If you're new to single-action revolvers or looking for an affordable, accurate .22 that encourages good technique, the Rough Rider 16" deserves a look. It's the kind of gun that makes shooting fun again because there's nothing between you and the fundamentals—no bells, no batteries, just a solid revolver that does exactly what you ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Heritage Rough Rider 16" a good gun for learning single-action revolver basics?
Yes. The Rough Rider's straightforward single-action design, manual safety, and low recoil from .22 LR make it an excellent teaching tool. The longer barrel and fixed sights encourage proper sight alignment and trigger control without distraction.
What's the effective range of a 16-inch .22 LR revolver?
We can't make specific performance claims, but the 16-inch barrel and fixed sight setup are designed to support accurate shooting at extended distances compared to shorter .22 revolvers. How far depends on your skill, ammunition quality, and target size.
Can I use .22 Short or .22 Magnum in this revolver?
This revolver is chambered in .22 LR only. We don't have data on compatibility with .22 Short or .22 Magnum, so consult Heritage's manual or contact Heritage directly to confirm.
Does the Heritage Rough Rider 16" come with adjustable sights?
No. This model features a fixed front sight and notch rear sight. Heritage does offer adjustable sight versions of the Rough Rider in other configurations if windage or elevation adjustment is important to you.
