The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver with 6" barrel is a budget-friendly single-action rimfire that belongs in any shooter's battery—whether you're learning the fundamentals, dispatching varmints, or just plinking steel cans and spinners in the backyard. This model rides the line between practical utility and understated elegance with its gray pearl Altamont grips, giving classic revolver charm without the big-bore price tag. At 33.4 ounces and 11.78" overall, it's light and nimble enough for extended trigger time but substantial enough to feel honest in your hand.

Built on the same proven single-action platform as Heritage's centerfire revolvers, the Rough Rider delivers reliable mechanical simplicity: six-round capacity, fixed front sight, fixed rear notch sight, and thumb-operated hammer safety. The .22 LR cartridge keeps recoil and blast minimal, making this an ideal training tool for shooters developing trigger control and sight picture without fighting muzzle jump. Maintenance is straightforward—no springs to replace, no surprises—just load, cock, and fire.

Gray pearl grips elevate the aesthetics above your typical utility .22, and Heritage packages this Special Edition variant with care befitting its appearance. Whether you're outfitting a truck, stocking a ranch gun collection, or introducing a young shooter to revolver mechanics, the Rough Rider .22LR offers honest value and timeless lines that won't feel dated ten years from now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR good for beginners or training?

Yes. The .22 LR cartridge produces minimal recoil and noise, making it ideal for new shooters or anyone developing fundamentals without fighting muzzle jump. Single-action mechanics are mechanically simple and reliable, and the fixed sights encourage proper sight picture and trigger control.

What is the gray pearl finish, and is it durable?

The gray pearl finish refers to the Altamont gray pearl grips on this Special Edition model. The grips are custom pearlized and add visual elegance to the standard black revolver finish. The grips themselves are durable grip material designed to handle regular use.

Can I use .22 WMR ammunition in this revolver?

No. This model is chambered for .22 LR only. Heritage does offer a two-cylinder combo Rough Rider that allows you to shoot both .22 LR and .22 WMR, but this particular revolver is .22 LR.

What is included with the Heritage Rough Rider?

This is a Special Edition model that comes with custom gray pearl grips and special packaging as part of the Heritage Special Edition line. For a complete list of what is included in the box, we recommend contacting our customer service team.
