The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver with 4.75" barrel is a single-action rimfire that delivers genuine shooting fun without the premium price tag or heavy recoil. Built on a classic revolver platform, this 6-round .22 Long Rifle is as much at home plinking tin cans in the backyard as it is for small-game hunting or pest control on the property. The gray pearl grips give it a refined, timeless look that stands apart from standard black-grip versions—a small touch that makes a real difference in how the gun feels and looks in your hand.

Heritage Mfg kept the design simple and true to single-action revolver tradition: fixed front sight, rear notch for elevation, and a straightforward thumb/hammer safety. At just over 30 ounces and 10 inches overall, it's light enough for extended plinking sessions and nimble enough for one-handed carry if you choose. The .22 LR round is inherently quiet and mild, making it ideal for learning fundamentals, teaching new shooters, or enjoying a day of shooting without the noise and blast of centerfire calibers.

This isn't a tactical gun or a self-defense pistol—it's a pure-sport rimfire revolver with real character. The gray pearl grips elevate it beyond budget-tier aesthetics, and the single-action trigger, once you're accustomed to it, rewards deliberate, accurate shooting. Whether you're establishing a small-game rifle alternative, setting up a low-recoil trainer, or just want a fun, unpretentious revolver that shoots, the Rough Rider .22LR delivers genuine value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR good for hunting?

Yes, it's suitable for small-game hunting—rabbits, squirrels, and similar varmints—thanks to its inherent accuracy and minimal recoil. The fixed sights and single-action trigger reward deliberate shot placement. Many shooters also use .22 rimfires for pest control around property.

Can I shoot .22 WMR (.22 Magnum) in this revolver?

No. This model is chambered exclusively in .22 Long Rifle. Heritage also makes a two-cylinder combo version that accepts both .22 LR and .22 WMR, but this specific model is .22 LR only.

What's included with the revolver?

The gun comes with the Altamont gray pearl grips installed and in special packaging befitting the Special Edition line. For additional details on what's in the box, contact us directly.

Is the Heritage Rough Rider suitable for concealed carry?

At 30 ounces and over 10 inches long, it's a full-size revolver better suited to sport shooting, training, and recreational plinking than EDC. If you're looking for a carry gun, consider a more compact centerfire option.
