The Heritage Barkeep .22LR revolver is a compact, single-action rimfire handgun built for plinking, informal target shooting, and introducing new shooters to wheelguns without the recoil or cost of centerfire rounds. With a 2-inch barrel and fixed sights, this is a straightforward, no-nonsense .22 revolver that prioritizes simplicity and affordability—the kind of gun that lives in a range bag or cabin drawer and never lets you down.

Heritage has earned a solid reputation for making honest, American-made firearms that don't try to be something they're not. The Barkeep follows that formula: a six-shot cylinder in .22 Long Rifle, steel barrel and cylinder with a blued finish, and an alloy frame that keeps weight to just over a pound and a half. The grip is dressed up with engraved wood, a small touch that gives it character. Single-action operation means you manually cock the hammer before each shot—pure, deliberate mechanics that actually suit a learning tool or backyard plinker.

At under 8 inches overall length, the Barkeep is genuinely handy. Fixed blade front sight and groove rear deliver quick target acquisition without the complexity (or expense) of adjustable optics. The .22 Long Rifle cartridge is cheap, quiet, and generates zero flinch, making this revolver an ideal platform for young shooters, small-game hunting at close range, or simply enjoying firearms without breaking the bank on ammo. If you want a no-frills, American-made .22 revolver that does exactly what it promises, the Barkeep deserves your attention.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Barkeep good for new shooters or learning to shoot?

Yes. The .22 Long Rifle cartridge produces minimal recoil and noise, allowing beginners to focus on fundamentals without flinching. Single-action operation teaches deliberate trigger control, and the compact size is easy to manage for younger or smaller-framed shooters.

What are the sights, and can they be adjusted?

The Barkeep uses a fixed blade front sight and a fixed rear groove. These are not adjustable; if you need to customize point of impact, aftermarket sight upgrades or optic mounting options would require gunsmith work or specialized solutions.

Is this revolver threaded for a suppressor?

The supplier information does not specify threading on the barrel, so we cannot confirm whether a suppressor adapter is available or compatible. Contact Heritage Mfg directly or consult a gunsmith for compatibility details if suppressor use is your goal.

What's included with the revolver, and what should I buy separately?

The Barkeep comes as a complete, ready-to-shoot revolver. You'll need .22 LR ammunition to fire it. For storage, transportation, and range safety, you'll want to invest in a quality holster and gun case.
