The Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 GLFA GL15223MSAH is a 223 Wylde rifle built for hunters and shooters who want a versatile, modern platform without compromise. The Mission Series brings GLFA's no-nonsense engineering to the table—solid construction and practical features that work hard whether you're training at the range, hunting varmints, or running drills. The Sahara Cerakote finish strikes a balance between aesthetics and durability, and the 223 Wylde chamber accepts both standard 5.56 NATO and 223 Remington ammunition, giving you flexibility in what you feed it.

Built on a 7075 billet lower receiver, this rifle starts with a rock-solid foundation. The upper half features a 16-inch barrel with 4150 CRMOV steel, nitride-hardened for longevity and corrosion resistance. The 1:8 twist rate is stable across the velocity range of both cartridges, handling everything from light target loads to heavier hunting rounds. The 15.125-inch M-LOK rail gives you genuine flexibility for mounting optics, lights, and accessories where you need them, and the modular design means you can build this platform exactly how you want it.

One 30-round magazine comes in the box, so you're ready to get to work immediately. If you're looking for a mid-length, adaptable AR-15 that doesn't cut corners on materials or barrel quality, the GLFA Mission Sahara delivers honest value and proven reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between 223 Wylde and 5.56 NATO?

The 223 Wylde chamber is a hybrid design that safely and accurately fires both 223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. This gives you the flexibility to use whichever is available or more economical without worrying about chamber compatibility or accuracy loss.

Can I mount a scope or red dot on this rifle?

Yes. The upper receiver accepts standard AR-15 optic mounts. The 15.125-inch M-LOK rail also allows you to add lights, lasers, and other accessories to the handguard. You'll need to source a scope mount or red dot separately based on your preference.

What comes with the rifle?

The GLFA Mission Sahara includes one 30-round magazine. Optics, slings, and additional accessories are sold separately.

Is the 1:8 twist rate suitable for hunting and target shooting?

Yes. The 1:8 twist stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights used in both 223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, making it flexible for hunting, training, and competition use.
