The Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 in .223 Wylde is a no-nonsense semi-automatic rifle built for shooters who demand accuracy and reliability without compromise. Chambered in .223 Wylde, this platform accepts both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition, giving you flexibility at the range or in the field. With a 16-inch heavy barrel and 1:8 twist, you're looking at a mid-length platform that balances handling with inherent accuracy—ideal for precision-minded hunters, competition shooters, and tactical training. The Cerakote finish protects against wear and corrosion, while the 7075 aluminum upper and receiver provide a lightweight yet rigid platform. At 6.8 pounds, it's lean enough to carry all day without wearing you out.

This rifle comes equipped with a 15.25-inch aluminum handguard featuring full Picatinny rail coverage, giving you endless mounting options for optics, lights, and accessories. The barrel—your choice of 416R stainless or 4150 CRMOV with nitride finish—threads at 1/2 x 28, so suppressors, flash hiders, and brakes are all compatible. The carbine-length gas system with 0.750 gas block keeps things running smooth, while M4 feed ramps ensure reliability. You get one 30-round magazine in the box and a mil-spec polymer grip that feels familiar to anyone who's handled an AR platform.

This isn't a pimped-out rifle—it's a straightforward, capable tool. No sights come pre-installed, so you'll mount your own optic setup and backup irons to suit your role. The mil-spec trigger breaks at 5.5–6 pounds, predictable and clean. Whether you're building a dedicated precision rifle, running drills on the range, or setting up a reliable home-defense carbine, the Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 .223 Wylde gives you a solid foundation without the premium price tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO in a .223 Wylde rifle?

Yes. The .223 Wylde chamber is specifically designed to safely and accurately shoot both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition, giving you flexibility in what you feed it.

What comes in the box?

The rifle comes with one 30-round magazine. Sights are not included—you'll need to mount your own optic and/or backup iron sights to the Picatinny rail handguard.

Is this rifle compatible with suppressors and muzzle devices?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28, the standard for .223 and 5.56 platforms, so any suppressor or muzzle device with that thread pitch will fit.
